On March 19, 2025, the Axo Protocol will cease operations on Cardano. We began this journey in September 2021 with a vision: to redefine trading and give people control over their financial future. For too long, large middlemen have dictated the rules of your financial destiny. We wanted to change that. Building something revolutionary is never easy. The last few years have been a time of both excitement and immense challenges. Yet, in Cardano, we found a community that shared our belief in a better financial future. Unfortunately, the pace of blockchain institutional adoption did not align with the financial realities of operating a startup. Cardano’s long-term approach is a strength, ensuring security and robustness. However, startups operate on shorter timelines to survive, and this timing mismatch has made our path unsustainable. In business, being early often means being too early. Axo was designed for a future where professional traders and institutions settle large-scale trades on the blockchain. That future is still coming, but it hasn't arrived fast enough. This mismatch between our continued costs and future revenues has left us with no viable path forward. Due to ongoing market conditions, selling AXO tokens was not a responsible or viable option. With no sustainable path forward, we have made the difficult but unavoidable decision to shut down Axo on Cardano. The remaining funds will be used to settle outstanding obligations. At present, Axo – an institutional-grade tool for trade – is not needed on Cardano, but as it develops and gains the attention it deserves, this will change. Our mission to improve financial freedom hasn’t changed. As a startup, we must shift our focus to solutions that address immediate needs in the current market. While we can’t share specifics at this time, we continue exploring ways to apply Axo’s core technology and insights. We’ll provide updates as soon as we have more to share. What's Next: - Vested ADA Return Process - We are working on returning the ADA that are tied up in everyone's vesting scripts to each holder. - AXO Holdings Snapshot - We have taken a snapshot of all AXO holdings in slot number: 150290110 as a way to recognize our community’s support, should there be opportunities to do so in the future. - Community Services Discontinued - All AXO-managed community services (Discord, Telegram, etc.) have been discontinued due to a lack of community management resources. All further communication will be exclusively via X DMs. Axo Platform Shutdown: - On March 19 at 12:30 PM GMT, Axo will shut down all servers. After this, new orders can no longer be submitted. - If you have open orders, please close them before the shutdown. - Any remaining open orders will be closed by the protocol after 12:30 PM GMT on March 19.
