Well I guess this is less hypothetical now
It works but it’s kind of a long (Hypothetical) Awnser …
Bears have about $9.2 million in available cap space. JS 2026 base salary is $13 million, but the Bears would only take on what’s left to be paid. With 11 salary weeks remaining, that’s roughly $7.9 million. That amount decreases the later a trade happens. ( I know you already know this Greg)
Titans keeps the cap charges for signing bonuses it already paid. Bears wouldn’t inherit JS entire titans cap hit.
That means the Bears could potentially fit him into their existing space, although having only about $1.3 million left would be tight. They’d likely want another move to create room for injuries and roster additions.
Next season If the Bears move on from Sweat, Jarrett AND Jaylon with how he’s been struggling on the field before their 2027 roster bonuses, that creates about $50.5M in cap savings. JS estimated $22.55M hit leaves roughly $27.95M before replacements and other roster needs.
The Bears could pay Caleb upfront and spread the cap hit. Example: a $100M signing bonus spread over 5 years + $10M salary = a $30M cap hit in 2028. Add Simmons’ estimated $30.9M, that’s $60.9M combined. Hypothetical, but workable if the rest of the roster fits.
a potential (hypothetical) path to paying both. It depends on the contract structures and finding affordable replacements & more than Likely Mid Round Rookies who can actually play. Also A LOT of agreements from everyone that they know the money is coming post Hopeful Championship .

Source: The #Titans claimed former Raiders DT Jonah Laulu.
The 26-year-old Laulu was very productive in Vegas, when he set the franchise record for most tackles (86) over the first 2 seasons.
