I’m thrilled about Tuesday’s victories, but I need Democrats to understand something: winning a majority means nothing if you don’t do a damn thing with it. The party has a habit of receiving a mandate from voters and then getting complacent. That cannot happen again. Operate like you’re always one election away from losing your jobs. Don’t save the biggest priorities for the eleventh hour. Get to work, move quickly, and deliver tangible results. And when Trump stands in the way of what Americans need, make it abundantly clear who’s responsible. Since the man wants his name plastered on everything, we might as well make sure he gets the credit for obstruction, too. The goal isn’t just to win elections. It’s to make people’s lives better with the power they’ve entrusted to you. Celebrate the wins, then get your asses to work.
