Strong public institutions don’t work in silos. They build relationships.
As governments navigate increasingly complex challenges, the ability to connect across institutions, sectors and stakeholders is becoming an important public sector capability.
In the latest #FutureGov Voices, João Vitor Domingues of Brazil’s National School of Public Administration (ENAP) explores the value of treating relationship-building as an institutional function—from breaking down silos and strengthening partnerships to building the competencies needed for effective cooperation.
Drawing on ENAP’s experience, the piece looks at how institutions can manage and strengthen relationships more systematically, build trust and collaboration, and ultimately unlock innovation and new opportunities for collective action.
