MW DX 🇰🇭 : the signal is, admittedly, very weak, but picking up Cambodia on MW/AM from the Alps, in my environment, is a real challenge. It happened last night for the very 1st time ! 😍 Airspy HF+ Discovery & PA0RDT Mini-Whip

MW DX : last night, I was able to enjoy great conditions, which is a rare occurrence : little interference from my neighbours, low atmospheric noise, and good propagation towards Asia. Here are a few stations I received from the Alps. Airspy HF+ Discovery and PA0RDT Mini-Whip.

MF coast stations broadcast maritime safety information : weather reports, notices to mariners and storm warnings. 2624 kHz USB : Trieste Radio (IQX) 1000 watts

Two 355-metre-high radio transmitter towers in Liblice, Czech Republic, were demolished on Thursday. They were the tallest towers in the world used for broadcasting in the medium-wave range. Link to the clip : english.radio.cz/iconic-czec…

LW (sad) news : the Moroccan station Medi 1 has permanently turned off its longwave transmitter on 171 kHz. The station continues to broadcast on FM, satellite, and the Internet.

MW DX 🇹🇯 : Another potential new country picked up for the 1st time : Tadjikistan. This is most likely Radio Farda, broadcasting in Farsi. IRIB Radio Zahedan also broadcasts in Farsi on this frequency, but the offset (.9895) matches that recently reported.

MW DX 🇮🇹 : Whilst analysing last night IQ file, I came across Radio Marina, a low-power (0.02 kW) italian station, broadcasting the following CW message : “Radio Marina 1107 kHz QSL”. Airspy HF+ Discovery & PA0RDT Mini-Whip + Wav View DX for analysis

MW DX🇦🇫 : very strong signal from Afghanistan last night (13 Oct) on 1107 kHz at 1835 UTC. AS usual, my Airspy HF+ Discovery was used for recording, and Wav View DX (v2282) for playing back and analysing the file.
