'Last Night In Soho' turns 5 this week. I'll post some behind the scenes photos in the next few days. But enjoy this breakdown of the 'Cafe De Paris' dance sequence with Anya Taylor Joy, Thomasin McKenzie and Matt Smith, choreographed by the great Jennifer White. Too many amazing people worked on this film with me, and there are sequences (like this) that I'm insanely proud of. Shoutouts to Marcus Rowland for this incredible set, the genius DOP Chung-Hoon Chung, our amazing VFX supervisor Tom Proctor and, in this scene especially, the magnificent camera operator Chris Bain. Enjoy and more soon! @lastnightinsohomovie @focusfeatures @FictionComplete @workingtitlefilms

Stunning film.
ELEPHANT was released 23 years ago today. Gus Van Sant’s austere, long-take drama won both the Palme d’Or and Best Director at Cannes, yet its refusal to explain or sensationalize school violence still divides audiences.

As someone who saw The Devils far too young on the BBC in the 1990s, the hype around this re-release is genuinely blowing my mind. Selling out cinemas everywhere. Huge lobby standees. It’s utterly crazy in the best way

This film deserves to be a hit. Truly original spin on familiar material. Hope it holds.

REVIEW: DC Studios’ “Clayface” is “good, gross fun with no franchise homework required,” writes Variety’s Guy Lodge. “In nearly every department, ‘Clayface’ exceeds expectations — all without getting ideas above its spiritual B-movie station. Tonally and stylistically, this nasty, gnarly body-horror movie is its own ugly animal; perhaps the characters and conflicts introduced here would pall if given the franchise treatment, but in the context of a single, genre-melding romp, they’re fresh and ickily enjoyable.” wp.me/pc8uak-1lHZ2X

Did not expect WHALEFALL, a viscerally disgusting film about being stuck in the putrid guts of a massive whale, would be so emotional and stirring. Go see it on the biggest screen you can find.

Had the privilege of seeing YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING. A film of wit, intelligence, pathos & staggering craft, great such an uncompromising, original film is now a hit. This year shows people want new experiences & new IP at the cinema and will turn out for it. It’s galvanising.

Had a blast with CLAYFACE, a viscerally gory & intense film powered by committed performances, terrific FX work & a sly sense of humour. It reminded me most of Jonathan Hensleigh’s criminally underrated THE PUNISHER (2004), being grounded, character driven & gnarly. A good tIme.

Really sad news. His brief, haunting appearance in MYSTERIOUS SKIN is one of the most powerful elements in an already wonderful movie. The best kind of character actor, leaving an unforgettable impression in a whole range of movies.
