We are here today with members of the community at the Ventersdorp Magistrate’s Court to express our outrage at the brutal torture of a North West farmer, Donovan Marx, whose ears were among other things cut off. The criminals arrested in connection with the attack are appearing in this court today.
@afriforum condemns @PresidencyZA @CyrilRamaphosa’s failure to speak out against this attack and his continued outright refusal to condemn the “Kill the Boer” call for ethnic violence and to declare farm murders priority crimes.
Given the failure of Ramaphosa and the government to act, communities will have to step up their efforts to ensure their own safety. For this reason, AfriForum has already established 178 neighbourhood and farm watches.
However, the circumstances demand that we all work together to do even more.
