Today, we pause to remember all those who served, sacrificed, and gave their lives for our freedom. Their courage and their legacy live on. 💙
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.

Last week, the Army Benevolent Fund planted nearly 50 Remembrance crosses in the Field of Remembrance at @wabbey. Each cross carries a handwritten tribute from an ABF beneficiary or supporter, honouring a fallen comrade or loved one who served in the Army.
Among the dedications are messages from veterans like Mark Harding, and well-known supporters including @BearGrylls, @NickyAACampbell, @Levisonwood, @JamesBlunt, and @GylesB1, who joined our chief executive, Major General Tim Hyams CB OBE, at the opening ceremony on Thursday 6th November.
The ABF is honoured to take part in this year’s Field of Remembrance, organised by our partner charity, @PoppyFactory.

Arthur Gower, father of RBLI veteran Pete, finally opened up about Normandy when Pete joined the Army. He told how he risked his life, acting as a human bridge so his comrades could get past barbed wire under heavy fire. True bravery.

One of our young people in Perth decided to get involved and made this incredible model castle, inspired by a recent visit to Scone Palace.

Tomorrow we celebrate 80 years since VE Day at the RBLI Village. Resident Violet, who turned 100 in March, was outside Buckingham Palace on 8 May 1945 after serving in the ATS alongside Princess Elizabeth.

80 years on from VE Day, veteran Olga still remembers the joy that marked the end of the Second World War in Europe.
At just 18, she joined the WAAF, working on Blenheim Bombers and Ansons. On VE Day, she celebrated in battledress over her pyjamas!
