Refuse the only candidate forum in your own Kew electorate because it’s not worth your while. Entertain a lapsed Lib conservative influencer who has expressed more interest in One Nation - for clicks? Jess needs to answer to her electorate first - refusing to attend forum or debate Torney, or take party in Ch9 leaders debate. Front up. Didn’t she learn anything from Frydenberg’s defeat?

The fact Jillian Segal waited til after her Senate appearance this week before releasing an updated report with further crackdown measures on Universities and public freedoms, after already being caught lying at the antisemitism RC, is an absolute disgrace and she must be sacked.

The report from Segal was a hit job on Australians who oppose genocide pure and simple. Well she won’t shut me up. She even lied quoting Krissy Barrett using words the Police Commissioner did NOT say.

Scoop - this could save the Australian govt millions in resources. Just in case Jillian Segal, Albo, et al were wondering where the rise in anti-lsrael sentiment is coming from. It's not caused by the ABC or SBS or progressives or anybody else. It's driven by lsrael itself. .

Of course Israel, Israelis and all the pro Israel zionists will deny that Israel is the source for anti Israel (zionism) sentiment. They must cling to their belief that whatever they do must be accepted without any protests of any form. Their hubris is paramount! #FreePalestine

This report spits in the face of the nation of Australia and everyone who lives here. It is subversive and disgusting. Jillian Segal must be removed from her position, and her office must be permanently abolished.
Sorry neo-Nazis, Jillian Segal says the real anti-Semites are people who don’t think Israel should be able to kill whoever they want forever

In May, the AFP received a referral from Amnesty, APAN and AMAN about Australians alleged to have committed crimes while serving in the IDF in Gaza. I asked them for an update in Estimates, and this is where they're at. We’ll keep following it.

INFLATION, INTEREST RATES AND A LITTLE MISSING HISTORICAL CONTEXT. In today's ABC report (video below), the presenter makes a point of highlighting that Australia's CASH RATE is now 4.60%, THE HIGHEST SINCE 2011. That's entirely correct. FOR CLARITY, nothing the ABC said was incorrect. What they didn't do was add context. There's some important historical context that rarely makes it into these reports. FIRST, WHO ACTUALLY SETS THE CASH RATE? The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA). NOT the Albanese government. NOT Jim Chalmers. The RBA makes monetary policy decisions independently of the government of the day. Now, let's look at some rather interesting figures. APRIL 2022, MORRISON/FRYDENBERG: Inflation, as subsequently reported for the March quarter: 5.1% RBA cash rate: 0.10% The RBA had maintained that extraordinarily low rate despite inflation accelerating well beyond its 2–3% target. It finally increased rates in MAY 2022, shortly before the federal election. By the June quarter, annual inflation had reached 6.1%. OCTOBER 2026 — ALBANESE/CHALMERS: Annual inflation: 4.3% RBA cash rate: 4.60% READ THAT AGAIN. Inflation is approximately 29.5% LOWER than the 6.1% recorded around the time Labor took office. Yet the cash rate is now the highest since 2011. And who independently made those interest rate decisions? THE RESERVE BANK OF AUSTRALIA. Now, here's another interesting piece of history. Former RBA Governor Philip Lowe acknowledged in September 2023 that, with hindsight, the Reserve Bank had provided TOO MUCH economic support during the pandemic. The RBA had kept interest rates at emergency lows, and its earlier forecasts had underestimated the subsequent inflation surge. In other words, today's interest rate history didn't magically begin when Anthony Albanese walked into the Lodge. The RBA's earlier decisions, pandemic-era stimulus, inflationary pressures and the subsequent tightening cycle ALL form part of that history. Of course government fiscal policy can influence inflation. Nobody is suggesting otherwise. But INFLATION and the CASH RATE are not interchangeable measurements, and governments do not directly set the latter. So, when we're told that today's cash rate is the highest since 2011, that's a perfectly valid fact. What's missing is the equally important historical perspective explaining HOW WE GOT HERE, WHO MADE THE DECISIONS, AND WHEN. The ABC report provides today's numbers. We've supplied some of the history. CONTEXT MATTERS. ESPECIALLY WHEN DISCUSSING THE ECONOMY. Sources: RBA historical cash rate decisions; ABS Consumer Price Index; Philip Lowe's final speech as RBA Governor, 7 September 2023. ABC clip WITH CONTEXT below.

4 Australian "journalists" go to Israel to cover elections, all 4 regurgitate Israeli govt talking points attacking Aust for recognizing Palestine. In the fine print we find out their trip was bought & paid for as "guests" of the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies. crd: Osman Faruqi

Sheer brilliance from @TheNoisyTrunk If only the way over paid MSM journalists did a fraction of this amazing journalism! The RW #MSM are shrieking. FOUR. POINT. THREE. PERCENT. "RBA set to act and increase interest rates again!" But NOWHERE in all this squealing do we see a comparison with the Morrison/Frydenberg government, which, incidentally, benefited from almost $7 BILLION* in RBA dividends during its final term. LABOR HAS RECEIVED NOTHING SINCE TAKING OFFICE IN 2022. Read that again. FRYDENBERG'S never-back-in-black budgets benefited from BILLIONS in dividends from the RBA. Albanese and Chalmers? ZERO. WHY, you may ask? Well, here's something worth examining. During COVID, the RBA purchased a staggering $281 BILLION in Commonwealth and state government bonds, substantially REDUCING government borrowing costs. And don't take my word for it. The RBA's own September 2022 review states: "The decline in government bond yields as a result of the BPP purchases in the secondary market led to government debt being issued at a lower (fixed) cost than otherwise." It also acknowledges that the benefits to LNP Morrison/Frydenberg government finances were MATERIAL. And what happened to the RBA's balance sheet after those purchases? A WHOPPING $36.7 BILLION ACCOUNTING LOSS IN 2021–22. The financial consequences of the bond purchases remained on the RBA's books, while the Morrison/Frydenberg government had benefited from lower borrowing costs. That $36.7 billion was effectively shielded from the Frydenberg financial folly. And here's the REALLY interesting bit. The RBA itself acknowledges that the net cost of its Bond Purchase Program would reduce the dividends paid to the government. Which brings us right back to those numbers. MORRISON/FRYDENBERG: ALMOST $7 BILLION. (No Surpluses - just coffee mugs) ALBANESE/CHALMERS: ZERO. (2 Surpluses) And the RBA has subsequently increased interest rates repeatedly, placing enormous additional financial pressure on Australian households. ⛐𖧀 ▓ Funny how that little financial history rarely makes it into the screaming headlines. Video below. THE MEDIA are gaslighting the Australian public. Footnote: The exact figure for RBA dividends paid to the Commonwealth between the May 2019 and May 2022 federal elections was $6.923 billion (A$6,923,000,000), comprising payments of $1.685 billion, $2.567 billion and $2.671 billion.
