As I predicted in our conversation earlier today, SC GOP “leaders” did not allow Col. Pelbath to speak on a bill (authored by one of his primary opponents) preventing him from running as a Republican.
Party bosses shouldn’t get to exclude candidates who threaten their cronies.
🚨URGENT ALERT: Another example of the establishment insiders protecting their own.
I came to the State House to testify in opposition to HB3643 which would remove me from the ballot. Out of 100 people who spoke, I was the only person they refused to let take the microphone. They clearly were afraid to hear what I had to say.
Mark Smith today refused to remove himself as a sponsor of this legislation, demonstrating his commitment to establishment party leadership instead of allowing the voters in SC-01 to decide the outcome of this election.
We will fight to defeat this bill and I will be on the ballot in June, no matter what career politicians or the Columbia swamp has to say about it.
