Post-match quotes from Bruno and Tielemans have a very suggestive of Carrick's sack being already in place. #MUFC

That's why he can't see when it's the right call to bench him and keeps trying to shoehorn him in the XI at our detriment. By all means have your favourites but also have common sense alongside.
🚨🎙️ | Michael Carrick says he LOVES having Youri Tielemans in the squad: "I thought the way Youri stepped into the game, he showed everything he's about. "He's not had the ideal start here in terms of the team and the run that we've been on, but his personality, his character and stepping into the team like he did just showed everything that he's about. "He's a top, TOP human being. I love having him around for all and everything that he brings. So massively impressed with Youri and the way he came into the game." ❤️🇧🇪

If you look at this attacking line that thrives at running defences, going direct for goal, and intuiting creative play, yet think they won't flourish under Ole's ball, you have your eyes rolled backwards in your head. #BringOleBack #BringOleBack #BringOleBack #MUFC

We have our identity. We have OUR thing. Fast. Direct. Bold. Relentless. Hardworking. Those are our pillars. You can be those things as possession team or a counter attacking team, that's secondary. Those cultural pillars are what matter first. Bring back my red arrows! #MUFC

You have players who thrive playing fast and direct but instead of embracing that you want to domesticate them into playing possession-stat football. Whether by Carrick's choice or the imposition of the board, whoever is responsible needs to be checked. #MUFC

Ole rocked up to Par des Princes with 5 youth players in the squad, two of which came into the game, with nothing but the belief that mountains are there to be climbed and came out with the W. It took lots of luck but 'luck' can only find the bold. #BringOleBack
Paul Pogba was putting in poor performances for us, and Mourinho went to the academy, brought McTominay into the team and made a statement. I need a manager at this club who has the balls to do what's necessary, regardless of who the player is. Enough is enough.

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
[🟢] BREAKING: Manchester United are expected to hold talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during the international break. (@DavidOrnstein)

Some fans just get it! Every manager who has failed has been someone who tried to introduce some fancy new football philosophy. The most successful run we've had post Fergie came from the one guy whose philosophy is exactly that the club's greatest era was built on. 2 + 2 = 4
To all those idiots who want Conte or Howe or Nagelsmann, but not Ole, go support another club because you don't understand Utd at all. Utd has a unique identity & needs a specific type of character to manage this special club. Utd is a different devil on a different level.

I'm curious about what lost Carrick the player buy-in he had last season. It hasn't been lost on me that Bruno made a point of taking a stern public stance in support of Ole yet spoke out against Carrick. My blind theory is that Carrick stuck by changes the playera didn't...
I think Manchester United in 2026 is the perfect showcase of how player buy-in is the most important thing in football. Carrick got it immediately & won the most points in the league taking us to the Champions League. Olid earned it after a rocky start & we have been quality ever since. Carrick's senior group have let him down massively this season (Michael's not been spotless tactically) and it has caused our trajectory to nose dive. Players are the tactics & commitment/effort sets the floor of the team.

...feel were right, unlike last season where he was quick to drop things that weren't working, and so lost the faith of the players who found themsleves in a situation akin to Amorim's stubbornness, though this time coming from a different temperament.

In other words, the players are rebelling against the Van Gaal influence in Carrick. But this is a shot in the dark based on wild leaps from tiny suggestions.

We getting relegated.
#mufc's next four PL fixtures: - Aston Villa (H) - Liverpool (A) - Brentford (H) - Newcastle (A) How many points can we pick up out of possible 12?

Van Gaal 2.0
Carrick is so obsessed with controlling the midfield that everything else is without control - including the midfield.

Carrick is a number 2 guy playing at being a number 1 guy. Love dude but it is what it is.

You know, I actually dig this. Has handled a top club before and his output at Villa tracks very well for the kind of consistency you want to see at that level of a club (sustained performance levels and league positions rather than swings between highs and lows).
🚨 “The manager MOST appreciated by Manchester United? In terms of potential candidates, the one they LOVE for sure is Unai Emery.” [@FabrizioRomano, @DAZNFootball] #mufc

And Fergie big-upped Emery's Villa ball when it was in its early days.

Can't even learn the simple lesson that talking this juice is not worth the squeeze. Even if you win, this is not a smart psychological play. Omor, this United, sef.
Michael Carrick on dressing room morale: "My responsibility is to the players. Outside is not for me to focus on. I know we can affect. I know what help the group need, guidance at certain times and dealing with things, that's part of my direct role. Of course we've spoken. We have meetings. The boys are hungry. We're hurting because we haven't won enough football games. But there is an intensity, an edge, a hunger to do better."
