This Leafs season, in hindsight, will be remembered as the "Auston Audition" for a select group of US teams.
Fans do not believe this now, but they will.

Stolarz has never started more than 34 games in an NHL season.

So, to recap the Larkin situation, this year he has:
- Said he wants to be a Red Wing for life
- Missed the playoffs again (scored one even strength goal after the Olympics btw)
- Demanded a trade (but only to the top 3 US contenders)
- Lost the captaincy
- Begrudgingly showed up to camp (but wouldn't *really* answer any questions & got "injured)
- Decided to play & said his focus was on winning games
- Expanded his trade list (to the top 10 US contenders)
- Publicly quit on his team for a second time
Missing anything? Seems like a really easy guy to root for
"ultimate confidence" is the new "undying belief".
Only the names have changed but the road still leads nowhere you want to be.

My understanding is while #LGRW have remained engaged in trade talks, the plan is for Dylan Larkin to sit out for asset protection purposes until a trade is completed.
Sounds like Larkin camp has applied pressure.
Awaiting interim GM Shawn Horcoff to address the situation.
