To be clear: Some facts are neither in dispute nor unclear. Our photographer was clearly marked as Press. She was clearly beaten. These are not partisan or risible statements, but indisputable. We urge a thorough investigation and accountability.
The Prime Minister’s Office: The facts surrounding the confrontation near Abu Falah, during which Washington Post photojournalist Heidi Levine was allegedly assaulted, remain unclear and are under investigation. Israel unequivocally condemns violence against anyone—Jews, Arabs, Christians or journalists. Those responsible will be held accountable. But serious questions remain. Reports indicate some 200 Arabs and far-left activists confronted approximately 40 Israeli youths. Footage shows masked individuals on both sides hurling objects, amid reports of fireworks fired at Jewish youths. Other footage appears to show Levine knocked down and immediately helped to her feet by the same unidentified individual. The investigation must establish the facts, including who initiated the violence. We will not allow disputed incidents to be exploited to demonize the hundreds of thousands of law-abiding Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria. The facts must determine the conclusions. Not the headlines.

Dem Rep. Sean Casten (Ill.) exclusively to WaPo's @Rho_Co: "It is critically important" for Ethics Committee to release Matt Gaetz report, even after Gaetz's withdrawal. Says Gaetz "can't get away from those allegations just because you've resigned."

Replying to @washingtonpost
@washingtonpost is a great and resilient news organization. But we are losing the equivalent of a great newspaper with the people who are taking buyouts. The amount of talent departing is staggering. Thank you to all of you for what you’ve given to The Post. We will miss you.

Days like today are a reminder that cameras should be allowed in ALL courtrooms. There's an enormous public interest in transparency, especially in the case of a former president being indicted (three times).

Sudden cardiac arrest in athletes is not a new problem. It’s not a small problem either. It’s the leading cause of death in athletes. #SaferSidelines
If you're looking at national news today it's a good time to read @stephkuzy's reporting on sudden death in (particularly youth) sports. This problem isn't new, and I don't think most folks understand the scope of it. courier-journal.com/in-depth…

Things are going great over on Threads

Early takeaways from Threads; - the timeline isn’t chronological, and there doesn’t seem to be a way to swipe over to a chronological column. - the feed is full of posts from accounts I haven’t followed, instead of the ones I have. there seems to be no way to filter this.

If it’s just a timeline of old posts from suggested accounts … that feels a lot like instagram wrapped in an awkward new feed. At least I can snooze suggested posts on instagram.
