Let’s not stretch the truth, or obfuscate. True I was the GPG ANC Premier. I left in 2008. My reasons are in a statement I released. This is not about the ANC. I didn’t endorse it. It’s about the DA and what must happen in Jozi now that she didn’t cross the line.

As the vote counting goes into rural and township wards the cumulative votes for the ANC, EFF, MKP and SACP get closer to 50%. It will be interesting to hear analysts unpack/apportion the ANC's rapid decline: voter apathy, splits or competition from outside.

My people can be funny. Have no issue with people voting for MKP in KZN but cry tears for people voting ANC in LP and EC. Also if ANC voters stayed away or voted DA because ANC is in GNU with DA why is that not the case in LP or EC people voting DA for same reason?

Would the ANC have gained more votes if it didn’t include the DA in GNU? Wouldn’t the EFF and MKP cannibalise it? In GP, the ANC didn’t embrace the DA, so why would the children be angry?
