Is it any wonder that retail butter sales are not shifting the surplus when 200g is priced at £2.50-£300 vs wholesale price of 66p per 200g - no wonder cream values are low. Retail is taking all the margin….again! @NFU_Dairy

Nothing against @WildlifeTrusts but there are loads of private landowners throughout the country who have already delivered nature recovery and sustainable farming on a massive scale. The idea that Rothbury is some unique project and a “new bar” is just nonsense.
Tens of thousand of people have enabled the @WildlifeTrusts to buy the Rothbury Estate. Largest land purchase in a generation brings an area of Northumberland the size of Athens into Nature recovery. Brilliant & bold work that sets a new bar for ambition for Nature in England.

Badger is the principle predator of hedgehogs. There is scientific consensus on this and this kind of misinformation is just as unhelpful as claims they're solely responsible for hedgehog declines. nature.com/articles/s41598-0…

This tidiness trope needs to stop, @BenGoldsmith because it distracts from the real reasons why hedgehogs are disappearing.
Weather extremes are affecting their food supply (this year no slugs and worms gone deep due to drought). More on this later..1/9 bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cly5…

Spot on.. it’s a lazy rhetoric that is out of date.
Most of us haven’t got the resources to be tidy anymore, and there’s much greater understanding of the need for habitat

Government policy leads to tidy farms. Look at the desire there was for SFI, gone in 6 hours!

Everybody wants a piece of agriculture. The bank wants interest. The supplier wants a bigger check. Organizations want dues. Bureaucrats want to control the Reports.
The farmer? We just want enough left to raise our families and give our kids a reason to come back.
When did that become too much to ask?
