They aren’t anesthesiologists and we should not be supervising them. This is wrong on so many levels. There were around when I trained, but we were not responsible for them. Their school should provide their supervision. I can only imagine who is behind this.
What is this world coming to?

…..You shouldn't, because you're not a resident.

FINALLY! A series exposing NP substandard education and how patients are being affected by this nonsense. I have been waiting 8 f***ing years for this to happen. For a spotlight to be shined on this s**t.

Is the Nurse Practitioner Job Boom Putting US #HealthCare at Risk?
“…NPs increasingly treat patients independently, including in specialty practices & emergency rooms. When they aren’t well trained, the results can be tragic.”

10)By stopping these kind of illegal practices, patients are safer and better cared for because they are prioritized, not the shareholders.

PHYSICIANS!! If you hate the corporate practice of medicine(CPoM), you will love this! Envision(formerly EmCare), is exiting California, thanks to the lawsuit by AAEM-PG. Envision has been entrenched in CA forever, so this is significant. I, as a CA resident, am tickled pink.

Yoo hoo, America….
The insurer United Healthcare owns Optum.
Besides owning a bank, a PBM and 10% of Americas physicians,
Optum also owns OptumServe which contracts with the federal government via HHS to offer policy solutions and more.
Many thanks @MedicaQuack

Why is this CMS so pro BIG insurance?
#CMS is ignoring the congressional intent of the surprising medical billing law & rewarding villainous insurers who created the problem in the 1st place by inventing networks, then abrogating their primary duty of paying for unexpected care.

Today I had the opportunity to testify in front of the Budget Committee on breaking up Monopolies while Chris Kean, COO of TSAOG testified on independent physician practice in Ways and Means Health Subcommittee. There is a strong bipartisan desire to fix physician pay, break down monopolies, and allow doctors to choose the type of practice that fits them best. Thankful for the questions and discussion today!

The data is clear: independent studies over a 20-year period confirm that anesthesia is safest when physician anesthesiologists are involved.

I strongly oppose the proposal that would remove physician anesthesiologists from the care for Veterans at VA Medical Centers.
It is wrong for the VA to put Veterans’ lives at risk by proposing to replace highly trained physician anesthesiologists with nurses in surgery.

Editor’s Note: A DNP (Doctor of Nurse Practitioner) is NOT a clinical degree & it does NOT take 4 years. It’s mostly completed online in a year with sometimes less than 6 hours of live training.
