Why have the deaths of over 43,000 care home residents at the hands of inept politicians gone off of the news media so quickly? Shouldn't we be hearing about at least two people being taken into custody by now.
BREAKING: Covid inquiry chair, Baroness Heather Hallett, says that action to protect care homes came too late causing it to "spread like wildfire". Live updates: trib.al/rq3oWgR 📺 Sky 501

North Carolina!! If you voted by mail, go to vote.org/ballot-tracker-tool… to track whether your ballot was rejected over minor technical issues. If it was, you can still vote in person!
🚨BREAKING: Thousands of North Carolina midterm ballots are set to be rejected over minor technical issues after a federal court upheld strict new Republican-backed rules for mail voters, according to data shared exclusively with Democracy Docket. democracydocket.com/news-ale…

Becky retweeted
Anthropic is effectively telling the government that they should be allowed to facilitate the deaths of up to 50 people per model and cause up to a billion dollars in damages before the government should consider stepping in to stop them. Insane.
So under Anthropic's bill, Anthropic can kill 49 people and steal up to a billion dollars before anyone can legally stop them

🚨The Public have got to wake up. This is Istanbul, Turkey, tonight and it’s just the beginning. Last year Professor Hayley Fowler, a leading climatologist and hydrologist, warned the UK could face this kind of extreme rainfall; enough to wash away cars and homes without much warning. It was ignored by the media. Journalists and anyone with influence needs to lobby the Govt and the Prime Minister to broadcast the National briefing about the facts of climate change and what is coming towards us publicly on TV in the way we had Covid broadcasts. @nebriefing The public need to face the reality that we’ve all fucked up. Our media and democracy doesn’t work. I’m very aware that people think those of us who talk about climate change are crazy but the reality is developing right in front of our eyes. The scientists warnings are coming true. People want to look away. I know lots of people in my own life do. But this is just the beginning it is going to get much much worse. The planet is already hotter than it’s been in over 100,000 years, carbon dioxide levels are higher than they’ve been in millions of years, scientists are telling us our kids will not survive the coming decades on the course we are on. This is really happening and we got to wake the hell up urgently. We are already in huge trouble and it can only get worse. youtu.be/2Jq23mSDh9U?is=u830…

I don’t care how many things you’ve already read about the film Naza, or how many perspectives you think you’ve considered, or even if you’ve seen the film. Stop whatever you’re doing and read this thread:
Yesterday, I watched Naza. I did not go to learn what had happened in Gaza. I am from there. I am one of the victims of this war, one of its witnesses, and one of those who have paid a price that will not end when the war does. I did not need a film to tell me how entire neighborhoods were wiped away, how residential buildings were bombed with the people still inside them, or how families were forced to leave their homes without knowing where they were supposed to go. Nor did I need anyone to tell me about the famine. I lived through it twice, with all its humiliations, down to the smallest detail. Or about the starving people who were killed while trying to reach what were so absurdly called “food distribution centers.” I know all of this. I was there. Read the whole Thread below : #Naza @yuval_abraham

Should be leading the news. 'Prepare for the unthinkable' warning over autumn flooding People are being told to prepare for "the unthinkable" as flood response teams warn of a heightened risk over the autumn. Natural Resources Wales (NRW) said it was concerned by long-range forecasts, external which indicated an increased likelihood of wetter, windier weather than usual over the coming months. Those living in flood-hit areas told BBC Wales they were worried, and had started preparing. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cm4g…

Warning: Terrible footage coming out of Las Condes, Santiago, Chile this evening including what looks like people being swept away in and on a bus. This is what scientists mean when they’ve been warning about El Niño. As the planet heats, the atmosphere holds more moisture which means we can get massively increased rainfall and records are falling all over the world. Those politicians and media who constantly framed Net zero as more of a threat than climate change should be ashamed - as far as I’m concerned we should be talking about criminally prosecuting journalists, broadcasters, politicians, and fossil fuel industry lobbyists who are stopping us from taking action on climate change. This is only going to get worse. Hello Lord Watson of Palantir. Here are some more "inadmissible facts" you have conveniently ignored. According to NHS England itself, on precisely the figures you quote: “We cannot therefore draw conclusions about cause and effect as other variables have not been controlled for.” NHS England confirmed that these figures do NOT provide causal evidence that your employer's software created the improvements you’re claiming england.nhs.uk/digitaltechno… In July, the statistics regulator warned that NHS England would need to "include clear information about causality" in relation to these figures. Another inadmissible fact osr.statisticsauthority.gov.… When the Health Foundation compared hospitals using Palantir’s discharge tool OPTICA with those that were not, its findings went against your purported figures. They "found no meaningful difference in delayed discharge performance in trusts that have adopted OPTICA compared to those that have not... We found no noticeable improvement in discharge performance among trusts using OPTICA." Worse, they also "found a marked deterioration in performance at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust after the adoption of OPTICA." osr.statisticsauthority.gov.… Days into your new role, and already publishing disinformation.
Later today protesters will demand ‘No Palantir in our NHS’    While they protest, someone, somewhere will get an operation scheduled earlier, a cancer diagnosis quicker, a loved one home from hospital sooner - thanks to the software that those protesters would switch off.   Here is what you won’t hear. Trusts using the software have recorded: • 117,000 additional operations • 14.3 per cent reduction in discharge delays for long stay patients • 5.6 per cent improvement in the number of people receiving a cancer diagnosis within 28 days     As a more articulate person once said: ‘certain facts, although in a sense known to be true, are inadmissible.’

I genuinely think that a Labour Lord pushing a false narrative for a foreign surveillance firm in change for money against the advice of NHS clinicians is a security risk.

Palantir is monitoring MPs who dare to criticise them 👁️ MP Clive Lewis just received a creepy letter from Tom Watson specifically referencing his 130+ anti-Palantir remarks If Palantir is so trustworthy, why are they intimidating those who criticise them? thenerve.news/p/clive-lewis-…

Covid increases the risk of strokes and young people, like everyone else, are being left to catch it over and over and over again. This could be one of the biggest scandals in modern history.
