Thankful for the opportunity to cover Pitt Athletics for CH for the last 6+ years. I started this account 12 yr ago when I was just a student sitting in @OaklandZoo and looking to talk Pitt with anybody who would listen. It’s been a blast and I hope to be able to write again soon

Thank you to everyone who has followed along since we brought the site back! Appreciate the experiences and everyone I have met along the way! Unfortunately Vox Media has made the decision to suspend Cardiac Hill. Hopefully the staff can find opportunities to continue writing.

The Year: 2007
The Team: #2 West Virginia
The Game: The Backyard Brawl
Summary: West Virginia was one game away -vs- unranked 4-7 Pitt from a national championship date with Ohio State. They lost 9-13 with star QB Pat White dislocating his thumb in the 2nd Quarter.

I think Will Jeffress will have an expanded and more polished offensive package this fall. If he’s able to defend screen setting bigs and switch onto ball handlers in PnR it could be a game changer for Pitt, defensively.

Turned my old Torrie Cox jersey into a Jurkovec Dinocat for the upcoming season. If I can find another #5 jersey I'm going to make it a @CoachKasper special. @N_THEYSTAYTHERE @TheLoyalSons @PittPantherBlog @OaklandZoo #H2P

Words can’t explain how appreciative I am that I got to help revive the Cardiac Hill website and have enjoyed my first season covering the Pitt Panthers. It’s been a joy covering a team with so much heart and pride and can’t wait to see how it goes in season two.

Pitt won their 2nd NCAAT game yesterday against #6 seed Iowa State. Pitt’s defense held ISU to 41 points. That’s:
• Fewest points scored against a double digit seed since 2000
• Tied for 4th-fewest by a higher seeded team since 1986
• ISU’s worst shooting game since 2002

Pitt lost John Hugley for the season and Federiko Federiko for the First Four and still beat Mississippi State to advance in the NCAA Tournament.
Anarchy?
Nope. Just College Basketball.

Feels like we might be witnessing the Nelly Cummings legacy game, especially after coming back out following his brief injury scare. He's at 15 on the night.

The pace seems a lot slower this half, a change that's likely going to benefit the Bulldogs. The Panthers are going to have to keep pace without their first team All-ACC player for about the next 7 minutes as well.
