The Pirates hosted the first World Series night game in 1971. However, the next CBA and TV contracts should return all World Series games to mid-afternoon. The entire country would be glued to a daylight World Series. MLB could still demand the same rights fees. A team like Milwaukee winning their first World Series as the sun is setting would set off a celebration no young or adult fan would ever forget (even if said game is played indoors). Tonight’s game could conceivably end after midnight on a weeknight / school night. Should Milwaukee win, the occasion will not get its due. Bring back World Series day games! youtu.be/nmji9fF5UlQ?is=rbwj…
Nice rendering of the NHL Pirates jerseys! Here’s goalie Roy Worters, the shortest player ever to play in the NHL so they say, one of two Pirates in the Hockey Hall of Fame. If you’ve ever wanted to rep those great shoulder patches, literally borrowed from the City of Pittsburgh public works department, we as always have got you covered! teepublic.com/t-shirt/874948… The NHL Pirates were the first professional team among what are currently the four major sports to wear the black and gold.

On this date in 1922, Ralph Kiner was born in Santa Rita, New Mexico. Kiner, the first N.L. player with two 50-plus home run campaigns, is the only player in MLB history to lead the league in HR seven straight seasons. He ranks second on the @Pirates all-time HR list with 301.
What a player. What a helmet. #H2P
Tony Dorsett, Pittsburgh Panthers, 1976 Heisman Trophy winner. Dorsett rushed for 100 yds in 20 straight games. In the last 7 games of 1976, he averaged 212 ypg.

RIP to the great Donnie Iris, an all-time legend. This is terribly sad news. We were there when he performed “That’s The Way Love Ought To Be” for the first time, at Three Rivers, sometime in the fall of 1981. Might have been the Browns game. Win one for Donnie this weekend.

I don’t know that there is a par 3 in the world that I like more than the 17th at Fox Chapel! Such an awesome Biarritz! Played great! Always enjoy the opportunity to play this place. ⛳️
The dynasty’s only visit to Wisconsin. Game was played though at Milwaukee County Stadium though not Lambeau.
