Ngl...I take what I've said about the IDW Sonic the hedgehog comics. Maybe after the Metal Virus Arc, and into the battle of the empire arc, it may have been a bit rocky due to how they portrayed the character. I've read all of IDW, till current ISSUE 91, and the writing has genuinely gotten much better, even if the 'stakes' are not as high as let's say Battle for the empire or the Metal Virus. We get to know so many characters, their motivations, their ideals, and how it clashes with others. Every arc, leads into the next, and each arc always aims to expand Sonic's world in ways that support the games. When you read the annuals, you also get to know some character better, like Mimic. Heck, there's even a short story of Big the cat's POV during Metal Virus...which is honestly quite sad. My favourite arc has to be the Phantom Rider Arc, because it really shows how Sonic is willing to do ANYTHING, even playing the bad guy to do what he needs to do. I like how crafty the plots of IDW stories are. They aren't so blatantly in your face with bad guy appearing, and must be defeated. There's usually some kind of mystery behind many storylines, so it definitely requires more from the Sonic cast besides raw brute force. Before I would've said IDW Sonic is just mediocre-to decent, but after reading it all, such as the seasonal stories, the annuals, and catching back up, I can comfortably call it GREAT. Honestly, while I prefer the Sonic in blade of courage more, Sonic IDW definitely has to have the superior overall storyline. Thoughts? #SonicTheHedgehog

In an era that's filled with heavy hatred and fear of 'Ai', we gotta talk about how it seems that the Sonic franchise actually humanises Ai/Robots. This panel from the IDW 2018 annual is one among the many instances. Emerl from Sonic Battle. Even the idea of Shadow being an 'Android' is an interesting one. And recently, Sage from Sonic Frontiers. While many tend to say Sonic is about nature vs technology, and while the earlier games seem to give off that basic impression, the relationship between nature and machine looks to be very nuanced. At many times in Sonic, it wants to give the idea that machine can be human just like us, even if they comprise of 'code'. What do you all think about this? #SonicTheHedgehog
