If you really care for your child's safety, I would suggest you focus on things that are less absolute then the Second Amendment. Here are some things you should be railing against: 1) Soft-on-crime DAs and Judges 2) Ineffective LE Leaders 3) Cashless bail 4) Plea bargaining down violent crimes to misdemeanors 5) Enforce harsher punishments for criminals Those 5 facets of our justice system must be tweaked or overhauled depending on the political persuasion of the given jurisdiction. Democrat-run cities are those in most need of overhaul as, for too long, their approach has been pro-criminal. Other things that should be done, but you aren't ready for yet: 6) Eliminate Gun Free zones 7) Constitutional Carry Nationwide 8) Implement Death Penalty Nationwide. You have greater control of the first 5 items than you do over changing the Second Amendment. Act locally. Be the change you want to see.
