@MesoReefDAO is officially joining Coral Bleaching Awareness Month this September!
We are turning our logo white to stand in solidarity with stressed reefs worldwide and to highlight the urgent threats of rising ocean temperatures and pollution.
Here is how the official campaign breaks down and how you can get involved:
🗓️ Why September?
⏱️ Timing the Shift: The global campaign moved from November to September to align directly with peak seasonal heat stress on coral reefs.
📊 Fresh Data: Hosting the event now allows scientists and reef managers to share real-time field surveys and current global bleaching outlooks.
🪸 What is Coral Bleaching?
🔥 The Process: Rising water temperatures stress corals, disrupting their relationship with their symbiotic algae (zooxanthellae).
⚪ The Result: The corals expel this algae, losing their primary nutrient source and turning completely white.
⚠️ The Danger: Bleached coral is not dead, but it is under extreme stress; if high temperatures persist, the coral starves and dies.☠️
Learn More: Check out resources from the @coral_org and @ICRI_Coral_Reef to dive deeper into the science and support global conservation actions: go.coral.org/coral-bleaching

📢 IMPORTANT PSA: Over the last several weeks, we've noticed a trend of malicious proposals attempting to drain the treasuries of dormant and inactive DAOs.
On some occasions, we have quietly notified stakeholders, allowing them to muster votes to defeat the proposals.
In other cases, the proposals have been malformed or invalid, and thus failed to execute. To date, we have not seen a malicious proposal succeed in this fashion, but we are only monitoring organizations on our platform.
Our assessment is that low sophistication actors are poking around, looking for an easy way to make a quick buck.
If you were involved in a DAO (even a relatively small one) that is now dormant or inactive, please consider coordinating to recover or protect any remaining assets that may be under the DAO's control.
Coral restoration is serious, urgent work. Most of the digital tools built around it don't feel that way; they are mostly like spreadsheets.
The branding for Reef.Regen was simple: make the joy visible. Bright, playful, human branding that reflects what restoration actually feels like, not what a compliance report looks like. The mission is serious. The experience of doing the work doesn't have to be.
Reef.Regen is now featured on the CRC Solutions Hub: solutions.crc.world/item/45 with stewardship of @MesoReefDAO
If you're building ocean or climate tooling and you're tired of everything looking like enterprise software, that's exactly the kind of problem we like to work on.

Honored to help shape Cactus 🌵 At Pollen Labs, our job is to ensure cross-pollination, even under arid conditions. Some of the best work happens quietly, underground. As Cactus grows new buds through its nodes, thanks to the care of @ScopeLift and @BenDiFrancesco, we're glad to see @CactusHQxyz take root in the wild.
📢 ICYMI: Yesterday we announced our new brand for the Tally governance platform. We had big shoes to fill, but I'm proud of what we cooked up! 🌵 @CactusHQxyz
Major props to @PollenLabs_ 💚 They were instrumental partners in developing the new brand identity.
Back in 2023, we incubated a privacy-preserving social media project.
Building social media is hard. Adding true anonymity on top?? 🧐 A whole different problem.

We are so interested in regenerative technology and have created a subreddit for all builders to have an open discussion: reddit.com/r/RegenHub/
See ya there!
Looking forward to meet y'all. 🫶

Reef.Regen dApp: reefregen.org/
Introducing you: Reef.Regen. A simple app for the coral restoration community.
reefregen.org/
When we met @MesoReefDAO and got inspired by their deSci mission, we started researching how we might design a solution to empower more people into a permissionless ecosystem.
The public can discover restoration efforts globally via Reef.Regen's map and see the activities happening in each location. We also know coral restoration groups need a hand publicizing their work, so a public shareable profile page and a map that can be embedded on any website.
Reef.Regen is now live on #Optimism mainnet, and today we invite the community, whether you’re part of web3 or a scientist to help us spread the word about this simple app. We look forward to creating more impact together with the restoration communities, for a healthier ocean.
