Parenthood is the closest thing you can get to immortality in this life. Having kids makes you a kid again. Suddenly every single experience is fresh because you’re seeing it through their eyes. A car ride, the ocean, fireworks, Christmas morning, a big storm, playing in the dirt, a delivery at the door…or your daughter’s first rollercoaster. All of it is brand new. The goal of life should not be to ‘relive’ your childhood, it should be to give your children a childhood. In that way…Parenthood is the closest thing to immortality we will ever get.
