🇮🇷 #Iran: Peshmerga fighters at a hidden military camp in the Zagros Mountains in 1979, the year of Iran’s Islamic Revolution. Following Iran’s Islamic Revolution, Kurdish groups demanded autonomy from the new Islamic Republic. In August 1979, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini ordered a military campaign against the Kurds, declaring them as enemies of the state. Iranian Revolutionary Guards and other government forces fought Kurdish groups, including the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan and Komala. 🇩🇿 #Algeria: Seven Algerian citizens were reportedly killed when the Algerian Army struck their vehicle with a helicopter in the south of the country. They were allegedly smuggling gold out of Algeria. Footage shows the helicopter firing on the vehicle. Images from the aftermath show the burned-out car and the seven bodies. (via @NAOSINT12)

🇯🇴 #Jordan: Alleged ISIS militants have carried out an armed attack on the Greek Orthodox Hamoud Church in al-Karak. The congregation was attending a funeral service when three armed gunmen opened fire. At least six people have been killed, with up to 30 others injured. (via Reuters & France24)

🇫🇷 #France: Several drive-by shootings took place today in Trappes and La Verrière, near Paris. One person was killed and five others wounded, including three seriously. A 12-year-old girl is among the injured. The suspected attacker has been arrested, and France's National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor’s Office has taken over the investigation. The motive remains unclear. Regional reports say the attacker fired randomly at people from a vehicle. (via BBC)

🇭🇹 #Haiti: The leader of the “Unité Bawon Laplèn” (UBP) gang, Lanmò SanJou, is seen blessing gang members and their weapons with rum as they "prepare for war". The security situation in Haiti continues to deteriorate rapidly. 🇵🇸 #Palestine - 🇮🇱 #Israel: Two armed gunmen opened fire on IDF troops near the Yehuda Junction, close to Hebron in the occupied West Bank. A prolonged gunfight followed, leaving at least five people injured. Both gunmen were shot and killed by IDF troops. The attackers were reportedly armed with an M16 rifle and a handgun. Israel has since ordered the immediate closure of Hebron and preparations for a wider lockdown of the West Bank. (via APnews)

🇬🇧 #UK: Four people have been arrested after a police officer was shot in the foot in Nottingham city centre. The officer remains in hospital in stable condition. Three suspects were arrested in Nottingham on Sunday evening, while a fourth was arrested in Bedfordshire in the early hours of Monday. A shotgun was recovered at the scene. Police say further arrests are expected as the investigation continues. (via BBC)

🇺🇸 #US: US special envoy Steve Witkoff, who is involved in negotiations to end the war in Ukraine, called Russian President Vladimir Putin a “humanitarian” during their meeting in St. Petersburg, following Russia’s release of a jailed American. As Witkoff met with Putin, schoolchildren in Kharkiv were taking shelter under a reinforced stairway as warnings of incoming Shahed drones were announced. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded sarcastically, referring to the attackers as Russian “humanitarians,” after Russia launched three waves of ballistic missile strikes on Kyiv. 🇺🇸 #US – 🇵🇸 #Palestine: US congressional candidate Brad Lander was detained by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank while harvesting olives alongside Palestinian farmers and international volunteers. Lander was released after around three hours on Wednesday, while dozens of other participants reportedly remained detained. Israeli authorities said the group had failed to coordinate the harvest with them in advance. (via Reuters)

🇦🇺 #Australia: Australia has adopted Anduril’s Ghost Shark, an extra-large autonomous underwater drone capable of carrying naval mines and deploy swarms of drones for reconnaissance and strike missions. 🇰🇵 #NorthKorea - 🇰🇷 #SouthKorea: North Korea is considering restarting loudspeaker broadcasts near the border with South Korea, blasting propaganda messages across the border, and deploying additional "tactical weapons". The statement was made by Kim Yo Jong, the sister of Kim Jong Un. This comes after a landmine explosion near the DMZ seriously injured several South Korean soldiers earlier this month and the alleged exchange of warning shots between the two sides. (via Reuters)

🇨🇴 #Colombia: Colombian Army soldiers have found and destroyed around 600 KG of improvised explosive devices planted beneath a manhole on the Pan-American Highway in Cauca. The explosive was planted between Piedra Sentada and the El Bordo toll booth. The operation took six hours. The area was also marked with several road signs which FARC dissidents are using to mark their territories.

🇬🇧 #UK – 🇸🇦 #SaudiArabia: The UK will deploy RAF Typhoon fighter jets to Saudi Arabia to protect the country from Houthi aerial attacks. The jets will conduct "defensive missions only". No offensive strikes are planned. An RAF A400M transport aircraft and military advisers will also be deployed to support the movement of defence equipment. The RAF Voyager refuelling mission has been extended by 90 days. (via CNN)

🇫🇷 #France: Police have imposed overnight curfews in parts of Paris and several other cities following days of riots and looting. In Paris, curfews will run from 11 PM to 6 AM, with protests also banned in certain areas. Nice has imposed a curfew for minors, while Lyon and Lille have introduced other restrictions. The measures come after more than 350 arrests in Paris on Sunday and reports that around 2,000 businesses have been affected by the unrest. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu has warned that a state of emergency could be declared if necessary. (via CNN)

🇳🇬 #Nigeria: ISWAP (Islamic State West Africa Province) has ambushed a Nigerian army base in Mairari, Borno State. The camp was set on fire during the raid. The group released footage and a statement about the attack through its own media channel yesterday. The claimed casualties and extent of the damage cannot be independently verified.

🇷🇴 #Romania: A seventh-grade student wearing a helmet and balaclava stabbed a teacher and injured another student at Ștefan cel Mare Middle School in Bistrița. Before the attack, he posted on TikTok that he had been planning it for eight months, writing, “This is it, lads! See you in Valhalla”. He also posed with a knife and made the 👌 hand sign, which has become associated with violent and white supremacist groups. The attack comes amid a growing wave of similar cases involving teenagers in Poland, South Africa and elsewhere, linked to online communities glorifying school attacks and mass shootings.
