#OnePiece1197 Self doubt and inner conflict aren’t excuses for poor performance in a fight. They’re weaknesses that you have to overcome. The story has repeatedly made this clear. Sanji’s mental struggles aren’t meant to excuse his performance. They’re meant to highlight his growth. His fight with Killingham shows his growth from someone that suffers from self-hatred to someone who overcomes it. That IS the power up. His struggles at the beginning of the fight are what force him to confront his sabotaging mentality overcome it. You cannot dismiss those struggles when they’re the reason for his growth and awakening of Conqueror’s Haki.

But the fact is simple: He didn´t struggle BECAUSE of Kilingham and that is the point. He struggled because of HIMSELF. He nerfed himself with "no dodging" and selftalk/daydreams during the fight. Kilingham was never the problem and that is the point mate.
