As a part of Inclusive ICT Research Panel at @GDIHub Global Disability Innovation Hub, today I spoke at the Disability Inclusion in ICT Webinar on a topic "Defining disability inclusion in ICT". My key points were: 1. Disability inclusion is not just accommodating but also making people with disability & neurodiversity to feel belonging and they are an integral part of the ecosystem. This can be achieved through the provision of level playing field and empathy. 2. Disability inclusion in ICT brings in diverse perspectives and in fact it enhances innovation 3. For us, by us - cocreation should be the key 4. There should be more innovators/researchers in ICT from communities with disabilities/neurodiversity. I was very glad to share the dais with Banya Ojok who had shared his great insights. The webinar was excellently hosted & moderated by Dr Maryam @marybee This webinar series is as part of the @EPSRC funded project ‘Inclusive Public Activities for ICT (InPACT)’ ( Global Disability Innovation Hub @UCLEast @uclcs ) to promote the participation of disabled people in ICT.
