While Nigerians are protesting tax reform, I'm learning how to legally minimize what I pay
Everyone's angry about the new tax bills. Twitter is on fire, people calling for Tinubu's head.
Meanwhile, I'm on @aitvgg asking "TaxStrategist" about legal ways to structure income in Nigeria's changing tax landscape.
In one conversation, learned:
- How to qualify for tax exemptions I didn't know existed
- Which business structures offer legitimate tax advantages
- Why keeping receipts isn't just hoarding - it's strategy
- How to time income and expenses for maximum benefit
My friends are tweeting angry threads about "government stealing our money."
I'm understanding the rules so I can play the game smarter.
Don't get me wrong - some of these taxes are excessive. But since they're coming anyway, wouldn't you rather know how to navigate them?
While everyone's screaming about the problem, I'm quietly learning the solutions.
The government will take what they want to take. The question is: will you be prepared, or just angry?
Knowledge is the only tax shelter that never gets reformed.

Good luck.
1999 Trippi is bringing back that nostalgic Y2K virtual pet feeling with a fresh cartoon style.
The collection features hand-drawn characters, bold illustrations and a whole world built around the @trippiart crew.
And the best part? It’s a FREE MINT.
The journey starts with boarding the train, getting your visitor pass and exploring your first stop in town.
The Genesis Drop, character reveals and more town stories are still ahead.
I like the idea of building more than just a collection, with its own characters, culture and story to explore.
The @trippiart journey is just getting started.
1999 Trippi. Free mint. All aboard.
