I've seen video coming from the UK like this. More each day now. Not just the UK. I see that in Manchester or Blackpool near the bars the Muslim men get aggressive with British ladies then the British boyfriends defend the ladies and get thrown around by the cops. Then poor British guys get humiliated, cuffed then thrown into a tiny little white cage in the back of a silly looking little cop van while the overweight British babes cry as they haul the guys off. lol Over and over again. Because we are poor , in lakhs of debts but still only hospital or gaushala in delhi ncr which admitted lumpy suffering gaumata and Nandi to save their lives .

I am no one to advise the Navy (or even the IAF) on career progression of its executive branch officers. But as an ex aviator who has exercised extensively with the Navy, all I can say is that this policy affects their growth as aviators.
Military aviation is not a hobby or side business. It needs steady growth in experience, skills and judgement to hone a greenhorn into a productive professional. Switching between aviation and surface Navy roles interrupts this growth.
The US Navy didn't/ doesn't do this. They had/ have career aviators. Who are as experienced as US AF aviation crew at every stage of their careers, with only some difference due to the environment they operate in.
If you remember sir, Maverick tells Penny Benjamin in Top Gun : Maverick, 'I only land on ships, not sail them'.
Understanding pattern of naval operations in US Navy belief does not mandatorily need tenanting surface Navy appointments.
