So, basically, 500 million Europeans expect 300 million Americans to protect them from 120 million Russians who can’t even defeat 40 million Ukrainians while those 500 million Europeans don’t even realize they are being conquered by 2 billion Muslims who claim they are being persecuted by 8 million Israelis. Is that about right? 1

The progressive movement is basically a hate movement. They jump from target to target looking for something to hate. Elon Musk, Bari Weiss, Angel Studios. This is one production company with a niche audience. Who cares? Don’t watch the movies.
Angel Studios is banning on-screen sex, nudity, F-words and misusing the name of God in its movies moving forward. “I think Hollywood generally kind of lives in a bubble. These are excellent craftsmen. They’re the best storytellers in the world. Hollywood has built the best storytelling infrastructure in the world. But at the same time, they’ve kind of drifted more and more away from the values-based audience that they used to serve,” studio co-founder Jeff Harmon told Fox news. Angel Studios, known for films such as the hit “Sound of Freedom,” will also give its paying members a chance to vote on movies and TV shows to ensure that a majority of members approve of the content. variety.com/2026/film/news/a…

Just realized Welles is literally doing the iconic Holmes pose on the poster for F for Fake. He knew.

RICHARD JEWELL is funny and thoughtful. Journalists are unethical slime, and Hollywood used to have a long history of acknowledging that.
Eastwood’s ‘Richard Jewell’ came out during Trump 45 and at the time MSM Libs were very insistent that journalists and FBI agents must always be portrayed as heroes so they downplayed how good this movie is (it’s very good).

Still so stupid Amanda Seyfried barely placed anywhere last season for The Testament of Ann Lee. Maybe the Oscars will recognize her for something else soon.

ABC News (part of Disney-Hulu-ESPN-20th Century Fox) accidentally promotes a neo-Nazi in their feel-good story about a guy who got his limbs blown off. But the mainstream press is worried that Bari Weiss won’t do her due diligence.
Ukrainian veteran Ruslan Knysh is just 20 years old. Still, he continues to defend his country after losing both arms and legs in a Russian drone attack. Today, he is training to become a drone pilot by using a customized chin controller to operate unmanned ground vehicles. abcnews.link/H2WKOYt

This is a brutal industry, and clutching onto a simulacrum of youth can determine whether or not you book an interesting role. But since Lawrence is putting this out there, I have to say that her new face looks oddly like Taissa Farmiga.

HILARIOUS: Justine Bateman BLASTS filmmakers for making AWFUL films because they’re catering to the WOKE MOB, dropping an amazing example: “Film festivals have done this too, where they'll take a film that is where the filmmaker is a one-legged albino from Alaska with two g*y mommies, and that checks those boxes, but the film's not very good.”

This is a medical scandal of historic proportions, and it’s a crime that the only notable documentary we have is a goofy Matt Walsh talking head film. Doc filmmakers are cowards.
This is your friendly reminder that taking skin from a woman’s thigh to create a non-functional tube of skin that is supposed to resemble male genitalia is not healthcare.

CODA is an artless remake of a foreign film so Sundance can program a crowd-pleaser directed by a woman. Like THE INVITE.

The other meta film about the unknowability of human psychology.
Big congratulations to @SophyRomvari and the entire BLUE HERON team for their Gotham Award nominations for BEST INTERNATIONAL FEATURE and BREAKTHROUGH DIRECTOR!

John Cassavetes is influential because actors love him for focusing on naturalistic performances. His films are also fucking boring. His obsessive focus on actors doesn't move a story along, and his filmmaking skills don't make up the difference like other slower filmmakers.
OK, I'll bite. If John Cassavetes is so insanely influential and brilliant, why have I not heard about him until recently? I've been on a side-quest with classic and esoteric movies, mostly through the Criterion collection. I've watched dozens of Criterion closet picks from filmmakers and actors I admire. They pick Cassavetes films ALL THE TIME. Probably more than any other director except Scorsese. I haven't seen a single Cassavetes film. I don't think I've ever heard anyone talk about a Cassavetes film outside of those videos. I'm not a slouch on film, I've got a pretty wide spread on what I've seen & what I appreciate. How has Cassavetes slipped through that net so completely for so long?

No. That’s because successful fiction has to contain something recognizable as truth. Considering 90% of terrorists attacks are committed by Islamic groups, they are severely underrepresented in film and television.

We’ve done untold damage to a generation raised on comedian newscasters turning directly to the camera and saying very bluntly “this is what I want you to believe.”

Watching the films of Damien Chazelle after his debut feature is like experiencing a sudden sharp back-and-forth movement of the neck and head.
Is Damien Chazelle the most recent director that has never made a bad one and each one is better than the last? I think so, but I’m open to suggestions.
