Ahead of the Budget, we’ve set out 30 proposals to help British businesses grow, including:
• Restoring Business Property Relief for family firms.
• Root-and-branch reform of business rates.
• Encouraging pension funds to invest more in growing UK businesses.

The UK’s small businesses employ nearly 17 million people and generate £2.8 trillion in turnover.
Helping them grow even a little faster could make a huge difference to our economy.
Today, we’re in Bristol launching 30 proposals to unlock that potential, just two days before the Budget.

Recognition at last from the Chancellor that the cost of doing business is holding back growth.
It’s what businesses have been telling Prosper UK as we take our conversations beyond Westminster.
On Monday, we’ll publish new research on the challenges facing SMEs.

How can the UK remain a world leader in financial services?
The sector contributes over £200bn to our economy, but its global competitiveness cannot be taken for granted.
Our new report draws on discussions with industry leaders and sets out their recommendations for securing its future.

The Government has approved the Jackdaw gas field.
A welcome decision for UK energy security, jobs and investment.
We have called for both Jackdaw and Rosebank to go ahead as part of a practical plan for affordable, secure energy, while also making the UK a world leader in renewable energy.

BREAKING: The controversial Jackdaw gas field in the North Sea has been approved by Energy Secretary Miatta Fahnbulleh.

What do Scotland’s retailers need to grow?
We brought together businesses in Edinburgh to hear directly about the challenges they face.

The Prime Minister is right to put youth unemployment centre stage.
But the scale of the challenge demands radical reform: redirecting welfare towards work, expanding apprenticeships and making it more attractive for businesses to hire young people.
We have called for all of these and more in: prosperuk.com/a_fairer_welfa…

Again, this Government is reportedly considering yet another tax increase on family businesses.
Tax is already too high and discouraging investment.
We have proposed welfare reforms that could save £8.5bn a year by the end of the decade.
Why not be bolder on spending reform and back the businesses we need for growth?

From an £8m profit to a £6m loss.
That’s what happened to the projected finances of one 300-home development.
Rising costs are stopping homes from being built.
We're calling for urgent reform to get the UK building again.

£50 million was reportedly spent balancing the electricity grid yesterday.
Meanwhile, the UK has needed emergency power from France, struggled to move electricity from north to south and faced repeated forecasting errors.
thetimes.com/article/7254757…
It also means investing in renewables and nuclear, but as our energy paper argues, the grid must be built alongside generation.
Otherwise, we waste billions paying wind farms to switch off and gas plants to switch on because the infrastructure cannot carry the power.
The transition can bring bills down, but only if we get the network, investment and energy mix right.
The Price of Power sets out how:

This is abhorrent.
Racist, sexist and violent language among Reform UK councillors and candidates.
There is no place for this at any level of British politics, let alone government.
Kemi Badenoch is right. No deal with Reform.
Warning: Distressing and graphic language
An undercover investigation by ITV Exposure into Nigel Farage’s Reform UK has found multiple elected councillors and party candidates expressing racist views and using offensive language.
ITV has obtained secretly recorded footage showing Reform officials from across England and Wales using violent, racist and sexist language.
Councillors Alan Feeney, Chris Whelan and Jamie Campbell did not reply to our request for comment. Councillors Feeney and Whelan have since resigned from Reform UK.
In a statement shared with ITV News, Reform UK said: "Where members, activists and councillors have clearly behaved inappropriately, investigations have commenced. In some cases, there have been suspensions and due process must be followed."
"Reform UK has improved and prioritised its vetting procedures, but from time to time, a handful of individuals who do not share our values will initially make it through vetting. This is the same for all organisations."
Fixing the UK’s housing crisis requires radical reform, not tinkering around the edges.
Our Housing Commission, chaired by @GavinBarwell, has set out a comprehensive plan to get Britain building again, make homes more affordable and restore the dream of homeownership.
