Just finished reading The Sign of Four, Sherlock Holmes series by Arthur Conan Doyle. The author mixed up religions in the novel. He names the Indians: Mohamet Singh, Abdullah Khan, Dost Akbar. All Muslim names given to Sikhs.

Mumbai police has detained Sahil Wakode’s parents, they brutally handled students. Women protestors were dragged, touched on private parts, and beaten by police. Calling lawyers and activist to assemble at Sakinaka PS
Inflicting suffering on an offender does not undo the suffering of the victim, nor does it restore what was lost.
Retribution seeks to balance a negative act (the offense) with another negative act (the punishment). It is not justice.
