Rest In Peace to one of the greatest.

It was just announced before the Reds/Padres game at Great American Ballpark.
Unbelievably shaken. 🥺
I’m glad he knew that he would be enshrined in the HOF. 💯

On his birthday, allow me to share one of my favorite Frank Thomas stats ever:
Over a 10-year period from 1991 to 2000, @TheBigHurt_35 batted .320/.439/.581 (1.020 OPS) and averaged 35 2B, 34 HR, 115 RBI, 114 BB, and 307 TB with just 78 strikeouts.
Here's everyone that has put up a season with at least a .320 BA, 1.020 OPS, 35 2B, 30 HR, 115 RBI, 110 BB, and fewer than 80 strikeouts even ONCE:
• Ted Williams
• Lou Gehrig
• Albert Pujols
• Todd Helton
• Barry Bonds
• Mel Ott
• Babe Ruth
Thomas averaged that for a DECADE.
Let that sink in folks.
Folks, I was already pretty sure that Frank Thomas was the greatest right-handed hitter of the 1990s, but it turns out he was actually a lot more than that.
Over a 10-year period from 1991 to 2000, the Big Hurt's average season –– not per 162 games, but literally his average season over the course of the decade –– was a .320/.439/.581 slash line (1.020 OPS) with 35 2B, 34 HR, 115 RBI, 114 BB, and 307 TB while striking out just 78 times.
Here's an entire list of everyone who has ever had even one season with at least a .320 BA, 1.020 OPS, 35 2B, 30 HR, 115 RBI, 110 BB, and fewer than 80 strikeouts:
• Ted Williams
• Lou Gehrig
• Albert Pujols
• Todd Helton
• Barry Bonds
• Mel Ott
• Babe Ruth
Pretty good list.
One of my all-time faves and, arguably, the greatest “what if” in MLB history! 🔥
Today's #MiLBCoD is Team Issue 2001 @EugeneEmeralds Ems Greats Eric Davis. Legend of my childhood. @PsychoMCTeach's fave.
These throwback to 85 Donruss Diamond Kings.
Tell me your favorite story about the player, team, ballpark, etc. Especially if it's MiLB.
RPs appreciated.
I can’t wait to watch this upcoming documentary about my former student! 💯🔥🏀
If you know the SEC… particularly SEC basketball… then you KNOW the legend that is: Chris Lofton.
Dub, you have just given me an idea. My next hobby goal is to create an entire “set” of 1987 Topps Oddibe McDowell cards. That’s right, 792 ‘87 Topps Oddibes in a binder.
I’ve already got a nice head start. 😉Mission accepted. 💯
