Are we surprised by @actparty MP McKee and her wish to allow anyone to own machine guns? Not really. Monkeys will dance to whoever is paying the organ grinder.

Sorry folks, that's your lot. We're back to repayments overpowering drawdowns. One of the many leading indicators flashing red while the commentariat discuss the apparently inevitable recovery.

Fonterra's climate pollution increased by 1 million tonnes in just two years: FY2024 to FY2026. If you include Mainland Cheese emissions (which they sold in 2026), its emissions increased by 2.5 million tonnes. They are world class polluters. view.publitas.com/fonterra/a…

This guy promised GPs he would increase their funding last election. The day after he won, he walked it back and they told GPs to increase fes instead. What he means now though is that they want more corporate GPs which charge $99 for a phone call.
ACT's policy: more GPs, shorter waits, less pressure on EDs.

Paraphrased:Lula’s victory is a vindication of a lifetime of fighting for democracy, multilateralism, international law, environmental protection & sovereignty, it sends a powerful message: the far right’s advance is neither inevitable nor irreversible Not in Brazil. Not anywhere
This is the best article of why Lula was able to turn it around. Populist FDR style “New Deal” policies in the country, the people of Brazil appreciate. This is the antidote to the right wing populism, oligarch/fascist fkry, consolidation of wealth and power, and use of hatred scapegoating the politically weak and marginalized people. This is to fascism what garlic is to vampires. FDR knew it and used it to beat back the rise of the Fascist NAZI movement in the USA in the 30s. It’s time for a New, New Deal. aljazeera.com/opinions/2026/…

There is no doubt that the @1newsnz poll swings wildly week by week and there’s clearly a problem of accuracy in its methology. Remember, at the last election this poll came second for accuracy. All the figures are in the margin of error.

Replying to @fpl_roy
the government's argument for closing enrolment early was to reduce the number of special votes which they claimed was delaying the official vote count. This was a lie. The official count will be released on 27 Nov, that's 20 days after Election day, just as it was in 2023.

National has funnelled $2.4 billion of a total $3b increase to the private sector through its term - that's 80% of all its increased healthcare funding allocation. I've written at length on this topic. Privatisation kills - no more more than in healthcare. rnz.co.nz/news/health/217418…
We were warned in 2024 that #NZ National Party was engineering a crisis in order to privatise our public health care system.
