The absolute madness exposed by the ART's latest report: Visa rejections are up 32% the highest level in 20 years, because the system was so heavily abused by “visa hoppers” jumping from course to course just to stay in Australia. Student visa appeals have exploded by 42% in just one year and a mind blowing 14 FOLD since 2023. The tribunal is so completely swamped that migration cases now make up 55% of their entire workload. And guess who is footin’ the bill for the lawyers and the appeals for this entire mess? You guessed it. You and I, the Australian taxpayer. While everyday Aussies struggle with the cost of living, our hard earned tax dollars are being poured into hiring more bureaucrats just to manage the chaos. The ART has had to rapidly expand to 413 members and 1,290 staff, forcing them into hot desking, office sharing, and working from home because they literally don’t have enough physical office space to handle the backlog. They’ve even had to change the rules to rubber stamp decisions “on paper” without oral hearings just to stop the tribunal from drowning entirely. Albanese's open border immigration rort has broken the system, and everyday Aussies are left holding the multi million dollar invoice. When is enough, enough?
