Time truly flies. How could it already be a week since I stood backstage with @IOHK_Charles and @Pyraic3, waiting to take the stage to add my signature in support of the constitution the delegates and alternates all worked so hard to improve?
A once in a lifetime experience. How fortunate I feel to have been able to take part in it. How grateful I feel for old friends met in person for the first time, as well as for new friends made from all around the world 🌎

Yes there is, Tim. It is called the U.S. Constitution. That is exactly what prevents the government from stifling dissent by labeling something “hate speech” or “misinformation.”
Yes, I understand, some forms of speech are repugnant, such as expressions of racial bigotry. Problem is, the category of hate speech expands to include everything the censors “hate.” As for misinformation, who decides what is true and what is false? The government? In authoritarian countries, yes, the government. That is why freedom of speech lies at the very heart of democracy.

I don't know where you live, but my local municipality has some of the highest paid, extremely corrupt employees on payroll.
We had 4 million dollars disappear off the budget for a local school district, with zero accountability and no recourse. The superintendent makes $250,000 per year and is elected through a committee of 7 people. 4 people abstained, and only 3 voted, yet they were still elected.
If you don't want to your DRep to get paid, don't delegate to a DRep, and just do all the voting yourself.
Have you read the 39 page constitution yet? Or read through every catalyst proposal?
Oh, that's right, you haven't, because it takes MASSIVE amounts of time.
Yesterday I disagreed with @MicahAlexKenda1 about DRep remuneration, and because he didn't like what I said, he blocked me.
Should we trust influencers and founders who aren't even willing to discuss opposing sides of a proposal?
Let me repeat myself:
Should we stop paying SPO's too? Because the only thing they do is secure the entire network.
Would you rather have collusion happening, where proposal teams requesting treasury funds bribe DReps for votes? Or would you rather have paid DReps sift through proposals and do the bureaucratic leg work that degens aren't willing to do.
Remuneration for DReps is not "gaining momentum", it is a necessary condition to have decent governance. One of the primary reasons most government employees become easily corrupted is because they are underpaid.
