9/ Summary
Every family should have a set of Baofeng or other FRS/GMRS radios for any kind of disaster. During #HurricaneBeryl we lost cell and Internet service for 6 days so the only way to chat was via radio.
Buy your radios NOW. Charge them and PRACTICE with them. Radio is not something you pull out of the closet after the balloon goes up.
Practice monthly.

8/ So, you want to get a message to Grandma in Chicago and you're in Houston, Texas and the grid is down. One way is to get the message to a Ham radio operator who can relay the message to another station who can relay it to Chicago.

A very short thread on the Baofeng Radios for normal humans.

1/ Your handheld radio in Texas is not going to let you talk to Grandma in Chicago. It will let you talk to folks in very short to intermediate distances. There are several FCC-defined services.

Save money on not buying a weather station. Buy an SDR and get the data from a neighbour 😃

Most interesting heatsink I've seen in a while. Found it while performing a Noctua fan swap on my Calnex Rb/GPS Frequency Reference. It's more like a porcupine than a heat sink!

I highly recommend cloudflare's security audit skill: github.com/cloudflare/securi…
Run it on all your software. Run it with the free models. Use it even if you used a model to audit something - it will find much more things. Works in all agent harnesses and is model independent.

Steve @OM3RG1 and I had some fun over the weekend building a HF log-periodic antenna. The results are promising, but it still needs a bit of fine-tuning.
Slovakia just approved Tesla FSD (Supervised) 🇸🇰
Slovakia’s Ministry of Transport has officially recognized the preliminary approval for Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised) system
That makes Slovakia the 9th EU country to approve it:
- Netherlands
- Czechia
- Belgium
- Denmark
- Lithuania
- Estonia
- Croatia
- Slovenia
- Slovakia - (New)
Tesla FSD’s expansion across Europe keeps accelerating

Jsem dostal včera před spaním takový nápad...
"Co kdyby moje mikrotiky byly vidět v Unifi Network Application a posílaly tam data?"
A GPT řekla... proč ne?

what if an ESP32 was a Chinese controlled SDR that was literally in every home in America and in many critical pieces of infrastructure
What If an ESP32-C5 Could Become an FPV Receiver?
C5VRX turns a Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32-C5 into a 5.8 GHz analog FPV video receiver.
It captures raw I/Q samples at 40 MS/s, performs WBFM demodulation using the ESP32-C5 BitScrambler, then outputs CVBS through PARLIO and a simple 6-bit resistor DAC.
What makes this really interesting is that the CPU doesn't have to process every pixel. Dedicated hardware handles much of the real-time pipeline.
A tiny ESP32-C5 doing RF, DSP and video output is pretty wild.
Would you try building this?

Testing 15 Euros ESP32 : 80Mhz wide spectrum on 2.4Ghz with recent hack : here is DATV and wifi. Next step : getting I/Q and having TX ! A new horizon for cheap sdr : eSpDR.
Ok, so let me get this straight: The guy takes opensource (GPL) firmware (usrp) and software (sdr++), vibeslops some mods, and now sells those for $20, without providing the source code. Are we really promoting blatant GPL violations now?

What If Your ESP32 Could Become an SDR?
ESP-SDR turns supported ESP32 boards into a small software-defined radio receiver.
It gives you access to raw IQ samples from the Wi-Fi radio, letting you see the 2.4 GHz spectrum and waterfall in a browser.
You can explore things like RF signals, spectrum analysis, IQ data and wireless interference without expensive SDR hardware.
The ESP32-C5 is even interesting here because it can work in the 5 GHz band.
A tiny development board suddenly becomes a great tool for learning RF and signal processing.
Would you try SDR on an ESP32?
