Anyone else get this feeling that they really need to speak to an old mentor or someone they worked with ages ago, but things got left 'badly', and you haven't spoken in over 2 years, so you don't want to message/email, but something in you is saying you need to?

How do you get kids to stop talking when you're trying to explain things? The minute I open my mouth they start talking again like ARGH!! #teaching #edutwitter #school

Had a good chat with my new mentor this morning and explained about how in past placements I've had really bad anxiety, and he said to me 'if you feel panicky or are having a bad day let me know, mental health is more important than teaching a lesson' means so much to me!

First time teaching one of my classes today, and one of the students wrote me a note to say they go by a different name, use different pronouns but aren't sure yet, so don't like to talk about it, and my heart 🥰 feels good to have been trusted to tell #DiversityandInclusion

Good first few days at a new school so that I can complete my PGCE - really interesting to see the differences between schools and departments - but feel so lucky with my new department all so supportive and feel I can ask them for anything 😊
