Work is still taking place. Looks like it has been ramped up as more of the concrete on Portland Street has been opened up. @MENnewsdesk

No buses are running through Piccadilly Gardens Bus Station this evening. TfGM staff are on hand to direct people to some of the stops where services have been rerouted. Below is an image of one of them on Princess Street. @MENnewsdesk

Streams are running down Portland Street, but the junction with Chorlton Street is where the biggest puddle is. People are having to hop, skip and jump their way across the street this evening. @MENnewsdesk

Hello, I’m on Portland street in Manchester where a burst pipe has caused chaos in the city centre. @MENnewsdesk

CSI are also still collecting evidence from Briscoe Lane. @MENnewsdesk

Another tent has been erected along Edmonton Road. I count three tents at the scene now. @MENnewsdesk

A second tent has been put up along Staplehurst Road. New forensics officers recently arrived at the scene. @MENnewsdesk

News of the woman’s death is starting to spread with locals understandably shocked. One person described the incident as “heavy” while another simply said “that poor woman.” @MENnewsdesk

Forensics seem to be carrying bags of evidence from Staplehurst Lane. GMP has confirmed the tragic death of a woman in her 20s. The scenes on Edmonton Road and Briscoe Lane remain. @MENnewsdesk

This is what it’s like at the moment. Police are also working on the areas around Staplehurst Road. I’ve spoken to a resident who says she heard “screams” and a car crash in the early hours of the morning. @MENnewsdesk
