Thanks to all the RBI members who came out on force yesterday to support permanent Sacramento Major League Baseball! And thanks also to Mayors Kevin McCarty and Martha Guerrero for attending.

Sacramento is still in the game. ⚾️ Our region holds advantages over other expansion contenders, including Salt Lake City and Portland, backed by a strong media market, a growing population, generations of baseball fans and the resources to support a permanent Major League team.

As Passan writes, cities will be expected to have their bids fully formed in about a year. Utah has been working on this for years, Sacramento only months. For many more reasons than can be articulated in a post, Sacramento will vault to the forefront within the next year.

I was at the Sacramento Pitch in West Sac and the energy was electric. Gotta wonder how much of a long shot it has been all along. As I’ve said before, the Giants have never seemed worried about MLB in Sac in any capacity.
Expansion is coming to MLB. Not officially, but with the Rays and A’s stadium situations settled, the path is clear for it to happen after the lockout ends. Here is everything you need to know about the cities that want baseball and where they stand. youtube.com/watch?v=4Db2aGpV…

Kenny is seeing the forest for the trees. Others should take note.
Ironically enough, all those cities outside of Salt Lake City are FAR AWAY from being ready for expansion. Sacramento is probably on par if not ahead of most of them.

The clock for expansion of Major League Baseball has officially started.
BREAKING: The Hillsborough County Commission has voted in favor of the $2.3 billion stadium deal, which follows Tampa City Council's approval yesterday. After nearly two decades, the Tampa Bay Rays stadium saga is all but over. The #Rays have secured their forever home in Tampa.

Rivercities Baseball Initiative hosted our first watch party at Birdie's in WSac with Mayors Kevin McCarty & Martha Guerrero. A huge assist from the A's who donated memorabilia for our silent auction. RBI is helping make PERMANENT Major League Baseball a reality in Sacramento.
