Heavy rainfall has caused dozens of damaged roads in Cape Breton and Eastern Mainland Nova Scotia. Conditions can change quickly, and some roads may be unsafe or impassable.
If you don’t need to travel, stay home and wait for conditions to improve.
If you must travel:
• Call 511 to check on road conditions before leaving.
• Watch for closures and travel advisories.
• Never drive through flooded or damaged roadways.
• Turn around if you encounter unsafe conditions.
Your best route right now may be no route at all.

As part of the ongoing investigation in areas of Stewart St, Nelson St, MacDonald St, Pioneer Trail
Police have cancelled the Shelter in Place and have opened the areas to pedestrians and traffic.
Police continue to investigate.
