CALL FOR PAPERS 'Shakespeare and Social Justice' Shakespeare Centre London and the Early Modern Scholars of Colour Network are looking for ECRs and PhD students to speak on the connections between Shakespeare's work and social justice.
Shakespeare Centre London and the Early Modern Scholars of Colour Network invite proposals for 15-minute papers on the theme of ‘Shakespeare and Social Justice’ to be delivered at the first SCL×EMSOC postgraduate and early career research seminar. We’re interested in hearing from any and all methodological approaches to questions of social justice in the works of Shakespeare. The seminar will be held at 7PM (BST) on Friday 30th June 2023, in-person at King’s College London and online. Please send your proposals to shakespeare@kcl.ac.uk by 30th May. We particularly welcome proposals from scholars of colour and those who identify as allies. SCL and EMSOC also seek to provide a space for early career researchers who have not yet secured an institutional affiliation, so we’re keen to see new work from independent scholars. We really look forward to hearing from you.
