The regular season starts tomorrow for the Denver Nuggets, but before we got there, they did stuff during the offseason! Let's grade their moves: medium.com/@ryanfreemyer/gra…
What is going on with Alpha? Started with a wrist injury and now it's personal reasons? Hope nothing major is going on
Jokić has shot 28.5% (57/200) from three since returning from his injury last season. Whether he's complaining about discomfort or not, something sure seems to be impacting his shot.
Sounds like the Raptors need another creator. Can I interest you in one Jamal Murray?
Three games into the season Jokić doesn't even qualify for the NBA leaderboard in post ups, which requires a minimum of 10. Doesn't make a lot of sense for someone who's averaged over 5 post ups a game for 6 seasons in a row!
I'd be curious to know the last time the Nuggets trailed by 20+ points in consecutive home games, but I'd imagine it has been a while
The fewest rebounds Jokić had in a full game last season was 7, he already has two such games this season.
Last season the Nuggets were the 2nd best defensive rebounding team in the league, so far this season they're 26th.
It has now been 42 games for Jokić since he returned from his injury, and as much as I hate to say it I've been pretty underwhelmed by his level of play for most of those 42 games. If we get a full season of this I wouldn't be comfortable giving him a supermax extension.
Golden State didn't play anyone taller than 6'9 tonight and outrebounded the Nuggets 45-32. That's a pretty sure sign the Nuggets got simply outworked on the glass.
Takeaways from Nuggets game 3:
-They are certified non-contenders right now.
-The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Nothing will change with this team until they change something about this team.
-Tyus shouldn't play.
The wording here implies that a Zeke trade would be a pure salary dump, which is something I'd be opposed to. Anyone who's still a free agent right now isn't someone you should be expecting to give you any kind of meaningful contribution. They should be looking to add via trade.
Denver is hoping to fill its 15th roster spot with a guard but remains mindful of its financial constraints as a second-apron team, league sources tell @TheConsensusNBA. There’s optimism the Nuggets could move Zeke Nnaji’s salary and pursue a free-agent guard.
