I grew up going to drilling rigs with my dad, as he had an O&G trucking company in Canada. Today, I got to bring my daughter out to our drilling location. Pretty special moment for me. – at Wyoming, USA

Boring Company is working on a simple, precursor Hyperloop tunnel between Austin and San Antonio (>200 mph). Due to traffic congestion, that journey can currently take up to 2.5 hours. @BoringCompany can reduce that to a consistent <30 mins.

This is Prufrock, riding The Monster, riding an SPMT, driving through Las Vegas. After we retrieve a machine, an SPMT drives directly under The Monster. That lets us move this 530,000 lb Prufrock section plus the ~140k lb Monster through city streets. The SPMT is a self-propelled modular transporter: dozens of independently steered axles that can crawl, crab, and rotate a load this size around an intersection. When we get to the next site, The Monster tilts ±10° and launches Prufrock straight into the ground.

Prufrock builds tunnel rings fully autonomously. Six concrete segments (~3,750 lb each), are lifted, translated and placed into final position. That's the weight of a Tesla Model 3, placed with millimeter precision in < 1 minute, monitored remotely from the Global OCC in Texas.

Introducing Liner Truck 3 — our latest fully electric tunnel vehicle. - Tesla Model 3 battery and drive units - Transports 22,000+ lb of concrete segments to the boring machine - 28 miles of range - 12 mph max operating speed - Remotely piloted from Global OCC in Texas, with each pilot controlling/monitoring > 8 LTs in the field. Fun fact: the same Liner Truck can carry standard freight containers through the tunnel.

Introducing Vertical Cassette 7 (VC7), our latest generation of continuous conveyor which transports muck/rock from the TBM to the surface. - Height: 37 ft - Weight: ~220,000 lb - Max muck conveyance rate: 990 tons/hour (w/ 50% loaded belt) - Max supported TBM advance rate: 4 miles/week - Min Radius of Curvature: 500 ft (see 0:12 of video for a tight curve; maneuverability is critical in urban settings) - Belt speed: 660 ft/minute - Supported tunnel length: infinite (w/ "Belt Boosters" every 1.5 miles) - 650+ improvements from VC6 focusing on setup speed, reliability, and power efficiency Fun fact: for every 15 inches the machine mines, ~1 dump truck of material is generated!

Congrats to the Dukes family! Not only the best of friends, but @RTDukes has been a major resource for me on how to lead your family. His son has turned into an exceptional young man. Well deserved.
Crazy development in the Dukes Household - my son was chosen to represent Texas in the Patriot games in a couple of weeks. It will be streamed on the ESPN app and I believe a finale on network TV if he makes it past the first couple of rounds. Obviously open to advice and suggestions on how he can make the most of it. freedom250.org/celebration/t…

Right now, only a small percentage of the Vegas loop is open and we already do about 40,000 passengers a day on a busy convention day, which is more than the majority of light rail systems in the US.  In a few months we will open the airport connector tunnels, which are two of the longest transportation tunnels built in the US in the last 25 years, and we believe ridership will 3x-4x as a result. At that point Vegas loop would be in the top 10 of public transportation systems in the US based on ridership (and on its way to top 3 or 4 as we open more and more of the system).

Had my 3 year old on the ride on mower with me. Loud clank under the mower, and watched my 54 degree wedge go flying across the lawn. “Ooops soohwwy Dad. I golfing yesterday” No worries bud. It didn’t work that great anyway

Sometimes I feel the need to helicopter parent my kids. Then I remember my parents used to let me, at 16, drive 3 hours to the city, use a fake ID to get into heavy metal concerts to then drive back home in middle of the night. Without a cell phone. And I turned out fine.
