🇨🇦 ON THIS DAY IN CANADIAN MUSIC HISTORY 🇨🇦 🎸 OCTOBER 27, 1987 — ROBBIE ROBERTSON GOES SOLO! 39 years ago today, Canadian music legend Robbie Robertson released his self-titled debut solo album, stepping into a new chapter of an already extraordinary career. Born in Toronto, Robertson had spent years helping shape the sound of rock music as the guitarist and principal songwriter of The Band, the legendary group behind classics like The Weight, Up on Cripple Creek and The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down. But in 1987, it was time for something different. Working with acclaimed Canadian producer Daniel Lanois, Robertson created an atmospheric album that blended rock, haunting melodies and cinematic storytelling. And he brought along some impressive musical friends! 🎵 The album featured: ⭐ Showdown at Big Sky — a powerful rock anthem that became a major hit on North American rock radio. ⭐ Somewhere Down the Crazy River — a mysterious, spoken-word-driven song that became one of Robertson’s signature solo recordings. ⭐ Broken Arrow — a beautifully crafted song later covered by Rod Stewart. ⭐ Fallen Angel — a moving tribute to his former Band bandmate Richard Manuel, who had died in 1986. The album also featured contributions from Peter Gabriel, U2’s Bono and the Edge, and former Band members Rick Danko and Garth Hudson. It was a remarkable reinvention for a musician who had already helped define an era. The album went on to earn Robertson the Juno Award for Album of the Year and introduced his music to a new generation of listeners. From his early days in Toronto to The Band’s legendary recordings and his acclaimed solo career, Robbie Robertson remained one of Canada’s most influential musical storytellers. 🎶 Do you have a favourite track from this album — Showdown at Big Sky, Somewhere Down the Crazy River, Broken Arrow, or another?* #CanadianEntertainmentHistory #RobbieRobertson #CanadianMusic

Trump just absolutely proved that Iran never had nuclear weapons. He said that if Netanyahu doesn't win, he will not continue fighting Iran. WHAT? But they have nuclear weapons!!! Why wouldn't Trump continue fighting them on his own?? Because there are no nuclear weapons. It was all a ruse. We suffered at the pump and in stores. 21 soldiers died. 800 wounded. Just to distract from Epstein, and help Trump and oil companies make billions. No matter how much you despise Trump and the GOP, it's not enough. Vote the mf's out. Every. Single. One.

"The Epstein Storm is Coming We put this story in the clips yesterday because we didn’t see it until we were almost done writing, but it’s a HOLY SHIT story that includes a new allegation of rape against Trump. While the big newspapers are pretending this is no big deal, House Democrats released a 50-page report yesterday that details Trump and his cronies’ efforts to hide the full Epstein files. There is so much new info here, and it’s all very disturbing. Todd Blanche literally cut off Ghislaine Maxwell when she was going to talk about Jane Doe and told her not to talk about “indivduals.” But the most upsetting is that Beatrice Keul, a former Miss Switzerland, told the committee that Trump violently raped her, leaving her bruised and bleeding. Rep. Jamie Raskin is calling on DOJ to appoint a special counsel to investigate Trump and Epstein. When that doesn’t happen, we’re gonna need our people to have gavels and subpoena power to go after this fucker. ... Police and the El Paso, Texas, branch of the NAACP are condemning a group of people, possibly including youths, who were shown wearing Ku Klux Klan-style white robes and hoods in viral social media videos. ‘Shove That Ballroom Up Your Fat A$$’ open.substack.com/pub/adampa…

Republicans must be thrilled that 11 days before elections, we learn that the Trump family secretly orchestrated a deal to allow Russians to drill Alaska in exchange for a $25 billion "investment" funneled through their proxies. Now we’re understanding why Trump needs a Republican to win Alaska…

🇺🇸 Pete Hegseth just got absolutely humiliated by Senator Tammy Duckworth! Senator Tammy Duckworth, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel who lost both legs while serving in Iraq, challenged Hegseth: "I'm glad you brought that up. Can you name a single country that belongs to ASEAN and explain what agreement we have with it? And, by the way, how many countries are in ASEAN? Frankly, I'm not sure you even know who our allies are." Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth: "Well, I can't give you the exact number, but I certainly know our allies in South Korea, Japan, and Australia..." Senator Duckworth: "None of the countries you just mentioned are members of ASEAN. I suggest you do your homework before engaging in these discussions." And this is the kind of clueless bullshit running the Pentagon. Absolutely unbelievable.

This is nuclear meltdown, ALL of the CEO's have quit the polar LNG project in Alaska because they learned that it was being secretly funded by Russia. Trump is a traitor not to just the Allied Nations but to his OWN country. How dare the U.S.A. talk about corruption or morality
Holy fucking shit! This must be STOPPED!! "Polar LNG is an American company with a bald eagle and a flag on its website, promising that it “helps ensure the United States leads” and calling itself “America’s Arctic Advantage.” Its plan is to liquefy natural gas on Alaska’s North Slope and ship it to Asia. The New York Times found that at least some of its money came secretly from Novatek, a Russian energy giant under partial U.S. sanctions with close ties to Putin. The man who ran the company said so. Joel Riddle, Polar LNG’s CEO until September, said he was told the startup money came from a company in the United Arab Emirates and later learned otherwise. “It’s not only unlawful, but it’s not in the U.S. interest to have Russian technology controlling the commercialization of Arctic gas in the North Slope,” he said. Novatek is no longer hiding it. The company told the Times on Friday that it’s moving to acquire “minority shareholder” status in the project: a sanctioned Russian firm openly seeking a stake in American gas production. Putin discussed the project last month with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Trump’s envoys, as one of several energy deals the White House believes could smooth relations with Moscow and help end the war in Ukraine. The Times found no indication Witkoff or Kushner knew about Polar LNG or its Novatek ties. The sanctions that would block it carry a familiar name. The Graham Act specifically targets Novatek and its Arctic LNG 2 project because of the company’s ties to Putin. Trump waived those sanctions last week, calling it necessary to keep peace talks going. Riddle didn’t leave quietly. He attached memos from the law firm Baker Botts to his resignation letter, noting that Treasury’s sanctions unit had already raised “potential Russia-related sanctions concerns” about the company’s Novatek ties. At least two other top executives have also left, and Trump officials were warned about the secret Russian financing and urged to investigate. The Energy Department didn’t respond to the Times. Polar LNG went after him. The company called Riddle a “disgruntled former employee,” said he was “terminated for cause,” and threatened litigation. Documents show he resigned six days before that termination letter, which cited, in part, his sanctions concerns. “It is terrible on environmental grounds, it is a terrible idea on economic and geopolitical grounds, and most importantly this feeds the belief that Putin can get an out-of-jail-free card,” said Geoffrey Pyatt, a former State Department energy official. Russian money in an American company, Russian technology on the Alaskan seabed, a Russian stake in American gas, discussed with Putin by the Trump’s envoys, and a sanctions waiver Trump signed weeks before an election."
