You'll never enjoy anything in life waiting for others to be on the same wavelength as you. Imagine how much you'd miss out on because you needed someone by your side for the experience...
Sending lots of love to the Apple community on my last day as CEO. My title changes tomorrow, but the love I have for the Apple community never will. Thank you for being a constant source of inspiration. My gratitude is endless, and I’m excited for the next chapter!

🚨Massive YouTube Partner Program Earnings Update (& How This Affects You)
YouTube just released an update to their YouTube Partner Program (YPP) to show how creators can earn money, and it’s significant.
Here’s a list of the changes:
Starting February 2027, creators will see changes in the threshold to enter the YPP, as well as a threshold to maintain if you want to keep earning from Shorts. However, there are subtle differences between revenue from Shorts content and revenue from long-form content. Let’s begin with the Shorts content.
In order to enter the YPP, you now need to achieve 20 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days instead of the previous 10 million views, essentially doubling the requirement to get into the YPP.
But the biggest change is how you’re able to maintain your Shorts earning status in the YPP. When this launches, to earn each month, you will need to maintain 10 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days to be able to keep earning from the Shorts Creator Pool. If you miss this threshold, you will not be removed from YPP, and this will not impact other YPP earnings, including long-form video. So it’s basically just affecting your Shorts earnings for that month.
This is significant because it essentially rewards those who continue to post and perform. This is a net positive for active creators who are contributing in a significant way to the overall field of content. However, it may hurt some of the more casual creators.
Lastly, when it comes to Shorts, YouTube is introducing incentive programs to help you earn, but they weren’t too specific on how significant these will be.
Now, onto long-form changes.
There aren’t any significant changes to your ability to keep earning once your channel is in the YPP. So, no minimum monthly view threshold.
However, there are changes to the watch time threshold needed to enter the YPP. Instead of the previous 4,000 hours, you’ll now need 8,000 qualified watch time hours in 12 months to enter the YPP.
YouTube highlights that you’ll be able to review and sign the new agreement terms in Studio very soon.
My opinion:
This is a big one, and I don’t believe many people will agree with my opinion. However, I believe this is a massive win for creators for two reasons.
First of all, it will create a stronger net for creators who are trying to make it and turn this into a full-time, stable opportunity.
Second of all, the minimum view threshold for Shorts will incentivise people to keep creating. This will also reward those who are constantly trying to push the ball forward.
I’m expecting an overall increase in RPM for a lot of active and performing creators.
My only caveat is that I understand this may hurt aspiring creators and certain types of creators who put a lot of time and effort into content that may need to perform over time. However, overall, this is a massive win.

i actually think "surface level" friendships are very healthy. not everyone in your life has to be your ride or die. some friends are for the gym. some are for going out. some are just for complaining about work or bureaucracy. when you stop expecting everyone to be your everything, the disappointment disappears. those deep convos and connections are for the 2-3 people closest to you
