Since the "split" at 5v5 xGF%: 42% 5v5 GF/60: 1.69 All-Strengths Goal-Diff.: (-12) Net PP opportunities: (-4) They "won" 1 period... it was 5-1 at that point of the game vs TBL w/o TBL 3rd period: xGF: 39% 5v5 GF/60: 0.96 All-Strengths Goal-Diff.: (-14)

definitely a new coach can save their season! but also need: an actual legit nhl 2c, better overall scoring depth, better goaltending, better offense from the back-end....
Chris Johnston: Re Jets slump/Scott Arniel: I don't think the seat could be any hotter; I don't have any specific information about an imminent coaching change, but certainly the discussion has to be had about, can they still save their season - Nielson Show (10/30)

IMO there's only so much rearranging of 30-40 pt Fwds & non-scoring youth you can do where I'm not sure if it makes a huge difference. Since beg of LY the Jets are a tick below Vancouver in gf/gp. "vet squad" 25-26: 2.8 gf/gp "younger squad" 26-27: 2.3 gf/gp
#NHLJets Scott Arniel suggests bigger line changes are coming for his offensively-challenged group, but won't reveal details just yet. "I’m going to start to work my way towards something. Guys are playing themselves up, some guys are playing themselves down."

From the 2017-'25 drafts; stats up to end of LY & excl. SEA... WPG ranks: Avg first pick: 14th GP: 28th Pts: 28th 14th vs 28th is the largest disparity. Avg first pick accounts for lack of 1st rounder IE, TBL has drafted: 14, 59, 27, 57, 96, 31, 37, 118, & 56 (avg: of 55)

Never seen anything like itigami. Per our model, the odds of 2 QBs on the same team matching a shared QB's stat lines in the same game (and at these exact numbers relative to the probability of the set as a whole) is roughly 1 in 416.7 million.
beautiful things happened in the bears game today

Agreed
Jeff Blashill is not a fan of the current state of NHL defensive analytics. "I've yet to see a single defensive analytic that's really reflective of how good a player is defensively without a while-on-ice stat. Trust me when I tell you I've seen a lot of them and we dig into them, so I would just encourage everybody to make sure you trust the stat before we use the stat... Just beacuse somebody puts it out there doesn't mean it measures what it's supposed to measure and it's accurate."

Should've done the Florida deal and got Eklund just like Ottawa. IDK if Seattle 1st was included? Depends on the day of the offer (FLA acquired it on June 21st and traded it a day later). Maybe Samoskevich was the other roster player?
32 Thoughts Pod Hellebuyck-Date 9/18 - Florida’s offer was Rodrigues, picks that went to Ottawa in the Tkachuk trade, and a roster player who was not Anton Lindell. It was not enough for Winnipeg - Winnipeg wanted the 4th pick from Buffalo but refused to give up the 8th pick - Winnipeg wouldn’t have drafted Björck 4th overall had that trade happened - Friedman believes Luukkonen has Winnipeg has Winnipeg on his 5 team no trade list - There’s at least one other goalie that has Winnipeg on his no trade list as of July 1st - Carolina remains interested, if the Winnipeg wanted to do a Nikishin deal it would be done already - The Jets believe there would be an issue signing Alex Nikishin

#NHLJets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff said their security team and even the police got involved to an extent after threats and online vitriol were directed towards Connor Hellebuyck and his family following the Olympics. Can’t speak to how much that has played a role here.

Agreed, the team being not good just a low hanging fruit of excuse.
No franchise can guarantee success. Helle was part of the problem last year. The year before they were first in the league. If he's bailing on a 8 year deal because of one off year he's a huge fucking quitter. We all know the real reason he's leaving.

We are profoundly saddened by the loss of 22-year-old Regina resident Bhishma Rajyaguru on Saturday. In speaking with one of Bhishma's loved ones, he shared with us that he was a caring friend, a devoted son, a supportive brother, and someone who was always there for the people in his life. A gifted percussionist with a deep love of music, Bhishma's passion and presence left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Our hearts are with his family, friends, and all those mourning his loss. We also hold in our thoughts everyone who is supporting those affected during this incredibly difficult time. We will honour Bhishma as part of our pregame ceremony on Thursday evening and are working with his family on the best way we can support them. We will share more information when it is available.

🤔
Cole Perfetti, signed 5x$6M by WPG, is a young playmaking winger who faced injury challenges last season. Physical limitations like lack of size and speed have made it tough for him to assert himself, but he's smart, crafty, and a good utility player who provides solid support.

The Winnipeg Jets select right-shot centre, Viggo Björck from Djurgårdens IF of the SHL. His work ethic is Mark Scheifele coded: first on the ice, last off the ice. His all-around game is lauded like no current #NHLJets forward. At 5-foot-9, people will always question his size.

2023 - 1 Vezina + 3 top-5 finishes: teams apparently don't want to trade+sign Hellebuyck (IIRC, BUF & NJD were the ones mentioned). Jets extend him based on the condition they're contenders. 2026 - add 2 more Vezinas + 1 Hart + Gold Medal teams still cool on trading for him? 🤔

8 1st rounders traded, remember the majority are late, except for 2026's, & I don't anticipate FLA sucking again. Brady hasn't played yet so of the 6 1sts traded the individual returns + obviously the 2 cups In contrast, WPG has 101 gp accumulated from their 3 trades w/ 1sts.
Florida has traded eight first-round picks since 2021.

rather get Florida's 1st rd pick than Lundell i think. If Lundell is returned they MUST be a cup contender. Lundell has 3 years left, & more importantly Morrissey has 2. If 2026-27 is similar to this past year, is Morrissey re-signing in '27? same question for Lundell in '28.
Replying to @OverDrive1050
"Anton Lundell would have to come back in that deal." - if #GoJetsGo and #TimeToHunt are making a deal for Hellebuyck

Hey Connor, we are good, bro. You can go. You don't have to. You can hang around. Still great, but you can go. We're all good here.
A Winnipegger is staying home 🏡✍️ We have signed goaltender Isaac Poulter to a one-year contract!
