Year 2 had an amazing day visiting Souter Lighthouse. Rock pooling in the beautiful sunshine and climbing to the half way point of the lighthouse.
After learning about the botanist, Jane Colden, 2B decided that we could be botanists too. Just like Jane Colden, we collected plants and sketched them to make our own Botanical Manuscript 🍀🌾
Today we looked at how Marsden Rock has changed over time. We made cake models to show how cracks, caves, arches, stacks and stumps are formed.
We very excited to receive tickets for a music extravaganza today! We listened to Bear playing some beautiful music on the piano before reading our new text, The Bear and the Piano
A huge thank you to Birtley Methodist Church for inviting us to watch their Christmas Journey. The children had a lovely morning learning all about the Christmas story and creating their own stable scenes.
Today we had the very important task of planning a healthy sandwich for Santa to eat on Christmas Eve. We tasted lots of different ingredients and practised our slicing, chopping and deseeding skills. We can’t wait to make our sandwiches tomorrow! 🎅🥪
Today we practised our sketching, painting and sculpting skills. We used a banana as our still life piece and explored its shape, colours and textures. We can’t wait to do our final still life project next week!
