Our @NC3Rs grant now known as G.E.M (Galleria Envenoming Model) is live! Our work is focused on developing and validating an alternative model to assess the three key pathologies associated with snakebite (hemotoxicity, neurotoxicity and tissue damage) lnkd.in/euVmfcan.

Our #Galleriamellonella Workshop 2024 was a big success last Friday! Thank you for all the speakers and participants, it was wonderful to see so much moth-enthusiasm and exchange knowledge of this model!
I am very pleased to share that our @NC3Rs project grant to validate the use of Galleria as an in vivo model for snakebite envenoming has been funded in collaboration with @gmrcuk and @MenziesLab, supported by Dr Stuart Ainsworth, Instituto Clodomiro Picado and @CSRIatLSTM.
Great talks on the last day of #IST including very exciting new antibodies being isolated and characterised by Kurt Wibmer's lab, Jereon Kools high-throughput systems and computational work by Pedro Fernandes
