The Keystone pipeline has had regulatory approval on the Canadian side since 2010. The regulatory uncertainty came from the US, not from Canada, on this line. Come on, Premier, even you know this.
Exciting day for Alberta oil and our economy. Southbow has successfully completed its open season for its 550,000 barrel per day ‘Prairie Connector’ pipeline to the United States. This means thousands of great jobs for Albertans and Canadians for pipeline construction and the new oil production facilities and operations needed to fill it.
This investment was not possible 2 years ago under Trudeau’s and Guilbeault’s economic attacks on our province. But with the Alberta-Ottawa Energy Agreement in place and those 2 terrible laws and destructive politicians gone, we are on our way!
Just another sign that Alberta has turned the tide and our future is brighter than ever.
I call on the federal government to unequivocally support this project and provide any and all necessary permits when ultimately required.

Separatists are *shocked* by my suggestion that Canada could revoke Canadian citizenship from Albertans following a unilateral declaration of independence (UDI.)
They believe that Alberta would get to determine how Canada would respond to a UDI, and that Albertans would have a right to hold and transmit Canadian citizenship to the nth generation.
But at the same time, they would not grant Alberta citizenship to the ~50% or Albertans born outside the province, i.e. people who are Albertans by choice, not chance.
So half the Alberta population (myself included) would be ineligible for Alberta citizenship, but the separatists would get to keep their Canadian passport to travel and work in the rest of Canada visa-free.
How crazy is that?
Albertans deserve to know exactly what some of the leading voices behind separation are advocating: mandatory military service, citizenship based on birthplace, and a vision of society that belongs in the past.
At a time when Calgary is attracting talent, investment, and opportunity from across Canada and around the world, the provincial referendum decision is giving oxygen to a movement that creates uncertainty, division, and risk.
Our city needs more homes, more jobs, more infrastructure, and stronger ties with the rest of Canada and the world. Instead, we're being dragged into a debate that threatens investment, undermines confidence, and distracts from the real challenges facing Albertans.
Calgary's future is as a growing, confident Canadian city. We must be focused on building that future, not legitimizing a movement that puts it at risk.

All Albertans should be concerned about these changes and push back against this anti-democratic bill.

Happy Seniors' Week!
Seniors are pillars of our communities, storytellers of our history, and guides for future generations. Let's take time this week to show our gratitude, respect, and love for all that they've done for our province!

How is it that the day after we bring the Eastern Slopes Protection Act back to the legislature, I see this? Alberta, we hear you. You don't want new coal development on our Eastern Slopes.
#GrassyMountain coal proponent Northback has requested an accelerated project timeline from @AER_news, even though the Municipal District of #Ranchlands has an ACTIVE request for a Regulatory Appeal AND an application to appeal 😡

Did a UCP Minister just complain about limiting debate? Wow. Considering that ALL UCP MLAs just voted for the most time allocations in Alberta history, limiting debate on several important bills to a couple of hours, I find that a bit rich.
.@CharlieAngusNDP and @s_guilbeault like to pretend this is about corporate advertising, but it’s really about shutting down dissenting opinion. They will fine, jail & bankrupt anybody who disagrees with them.
If they had any integrity, they’d let their ideas be debated without putting their thumb on the scale.

I'm so thankful we have @sipiysis in our caucus to talk about the effect of the opioid crisis on Indigenous communities. As you can read in this story, it's incredibly close to him. #ableg #yyc #yeg

Patients in Alberta are waiting up to 13 weeks for radiation oncology and 8 weeks for medical oncology assessments—far beyond the target of 4 weeks. This must change.

We have heard from so many constituents and stakeholders that Bill 20 is undemocratic and unacceptable.
Add your name to our the link below to tell the UCP government to stop their attempts to control everything, everywhere, all at once. #ableg #abpoli

"Alberta cancer patients are waiting 13 weeks to see a radiation oncologist and 8 weeks for a medical oncologist." Waiting times are a matter of treatment and survival. Alberta's cancer care system is extremely under-resourced and we need investment now.

“UCP MLAs never would have voted for a candidate that had sought the NDP nomination…
They’ll argue they’d have had difficulty finding an ethics commissioner with no political ties.
But surely, there was someone further removed from partisanship & power than this.” #ableg
Opinion: The UCP has ensured Alberta’s new ethics commissioner will never be seen as independent theglobeandmail.com/opinion/…

Bill 20 is not only bad for democracy, it's bad for business.
Businesses look to stable govt when they want to invest in a city or town. But when city councils can be fired at the drop of a hat, this scares away investment.
Tell the UCP, Bill 20 needs to go. #financefriday

The passing of Motion 511 in the legislature yesterday marks a crucial step towards creating a more inclusive and economically prosperous Alberta.
Alberta has the highest net interprovincial migration rate, yet a lower retention rate of skilled workers and skilled trades than other comparable jurisdictions.
We need to not only attract but retain skilled workers in the province.
I look forward to continuing the conversation on how we can support newcomers and all Albertans through better credential recognition in this province.
