For many trainees, residency is when they start or continue having families. We must take care of each other so we can care for our patients!
We recommend the ABR allow DR/IR/RO residents in good standing to take 12 wks of family/medical leave (+4 wks vacation/yr), take Exams on time and graduate without extension of training, with additional leave to be considered by PD on a case by case basis.
